I have my own kids and took my husband's brother's two boys when he and his wife divorced when the boys were in their early teens. Telling them they were of age and would help them, but my house was too small for them to move in. Now those 2 boys are in their late 30's to early 40 and we don't see them at all. They came around for us to pay and do their father's funeral, and we haven't heard from them since. Just fyi, we planned and paid for the entire funeral. The sons claiming they have no money, didn't contribute one red cent toward their father's funeral. Lesson learn, take care of yourself because no one will take care of you.
