Tonegawa is possibly one of the most realistic villains I can recall. A mid-age white-collar manager that surives the harshest business culture on earth.
It will always be the same if you sit around doing nothing to change yourself and expect everything to just "fall in place" for you. That's the true message.
Normally, those people would never wake up from their fantasy worlds. They live meaningless lives. They waste their precious days over nothing. No matter how old they get, they'll continue to say, "My real life hasn't started yet. The real me is still asleep, so that's why my life is such garbage." They continue to tell themselves that. And they age. Then die. And on their deathbeds, they will finally realize: the life they lived was the real thing. People don't live provisional lives, nor do they die provisional deaths. That's a simple fact! The problem... is whether they realize that simple fact. This scene changed my life
it was the original reason I quit playing games, started yoga + cross fit, studying hard in college, started NoFap, decided to get into stocks and business. I relapsed life happened clearly cross fit and injuries are synonymous. 5 years later, life happens I am here now. I am awake. The best I can do is aim for growth everyday. The time I spend depressed will not lead to growth. Be aligned with your purpose and work towards building skills. Sacrifice is needed. I have not found a way around that rule. Do not deny sleep, your family relationships, and your work. The rest isn't truly needed for your growth.
@Madhawk1995 I admire your mental strength. I was just thinking: how does one live a meaningful life? Working your ass off for money isn't so meaningful either. Lazing around isn't either. Building an empire just so you do not need to work and can laze around? That's just another excuse to laze around. What's so meaningful? Following your goals sounds good, and you will have purpose, but you will have to make up new goals as you go and some might have only meaning to you but be completely meaningless to others and humanity. I got a bit lost here... learning is surely a great goal. Always learning, trying something new. But what else is so "meaningful"? Even money only has meaning in our heads.
@@yvesarakawagames I think the ultimate goal should be to not have any regrets when you get old, so you can die happy without worrying about what you did or didn't do in your life. If you can afford to laze around then by all means, but it shouldn't be at the expense of your future.
@@Diabl0Mask I am not sure. What if a person with no conscience has no regrets when they grow old? Now I think it might be better to think more as a collective human race... and to think of others more, humans as well as animals, nature. They might have been "losers" when they lived but they did everything they could to lead humanity to a better future. Maybe they also lazed around too but it's definitely better than dying in a war that you personally do not believe in or acting without integrity in daily life. But thanks for the input.
That's why it was in brackets. It's motivational for most, but for some it can be detrimental. Eg those who are coping and are too far gone. It might break them when they realise they can't do a thing about their own lives for a variety of reasons, like age or disability. Unlike most motivational speeches where there's no sense of despair or sadness, this goes both ways, another reason it's so good.
