I’m relieved to know that everyone else was frightened by this as a child. It’s just something that became a dark afterthought in the back of my mind over the years...
So true! I remember watching this for upwards of 3 years in music class in elementary school, and always being curiously fascinated, but with a side of dread and terror at the expressions and movements.
I've literally been trying to figure out the name of the Peer Gynt video I watched as a kid for over 15 years- no wonder I couldn't find it, I was always looking up "stop motion!" Finding this is goddamn life-affirming. Thank you, I can go buy the DVD now!!!
Ive liked puppets and marionettes, but i dont really know anything about the topic so i didnt think too much of it in the last few years. But im now in highschool and i have a senior project. I thought i could learn about puppetry and even attempt to make a marionette. And thinking about it, i remembered about seeing this in elementary. It gave me the creeps back then, and thats what i love about puppetry. The mystery and creepiness, it is truly art.
I've been looking for this and I agree!! I too watched as a child in second grade music class and green Hilda scared me!! lol the whole play seemed creepy
Is this classic low budget performing arts trauma based mind control tradition i.e. think of Fritz SPRINGMEIER or his laying accusations at Disneyesque use of traditional mind control motifs used here.... Moloch (owl) child sacrifice is supposedly based monarch programming. This centuries old has been with Operation Artichoke and so on now known in extremis as Psyops with Will Filer's whistleblowing on the now NSA, ironic Jim Gamble in Ulster is a child protection name. Check out monarch programming.com and consider if it is all wrong or that the performing arts carry this load for old and now modern children???
My music teacher showed this to us in 2nd grade and it freaked us all out.
