I am thinking of getting this bc im into reptiles and like going to expos and i need a camera that is HD and can focus fast.

This is an awesome point and shoot camera . I purchased it for an African safari , and it did me justice. It isn't the best out there , but it was more than sufficient enough for my needs, and at a very reasonable price. The battery life was fine. I had a spare , and out in the savannah all day recording many things , I did come close to losing both charges and had to conserve one of the days. But we used it excessively. As for the other technical stuff , I will have to get back to you. All in all , I am pretty happy with this camera and recommend it. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Hi, I am about to get one. I must ask about blitz. I see there is not button to open it manually. You must open it by pulling it with you fingers. Can this, in time, affect the property of keeping the blitz closed? I do apologize for pure English. Please, HELP....
i have this camera. for people who want it. its not the best. its more or less for personal use. i can take professional shots with very close up shots or well lucky ones too. its quality varies. it can be bad, or it can be very good. its zoom is fantastic. ive used it alot and it wonderful. however. i was told there was in fact a toy camera effect........i still havent found it yet

I notice that when I use the zoom in and zoom out a lot , the battery life seems to diminish sooner. I would recommend having a spare battery if you are going to be away from power sources for more than 4 hours and plan on using the camera a lot.
I tried to video myself giving a music masterclass at a university and it shut off after around 15 minutes into my lecture. Does anyone know any reason this would have happened? Thanks! Dr. Dupree

Isn't a bridge. Bridges have zoom/focus ring(s) and/or viewfinder. This camera is a mini bridge-like one. Its strong point is not necessarily the big zoom, but the clean BSI CMOS sensor. Almost as clean as the sensor of Canon S120, whose price is more than double. I bought my SX510HS with ab. 160$ and I love it. I put CHDK firmware on it and now I have RAW and much more features. See CHDK page by searching with Google.
