You should make a video about the Chimera album. Generator of Evil is a great album, but Chimera is the Magnum Opus of the Aria. Especially the song of the same name "Chimera", "Calm", "Vampire", "Shard of Ice" and "Heaven will find you".

The song was released in 1998 and you are correct about Icarus theme and the band being aware of it. They have already released the song called exactly that (Икар - because in Russian tradition we get rid of -us ending in Roman names) on their second album in 1986. Well, rather, it was Margarita Pushkina - their song writer - who has revisited the theme in her lyrics. Aria was created back in the Soviet Union of course and back then it was a custom for musical ensambles to have a professional lyricist and a composer. Collective approach to art, musicians as performers and not as writers. Anyway, even when the Union fell they have kept on relying on Pushkina for lyrics. As far as I am aware, they were always writing their own music though.

Thank you for your reaction! I really enjoyed it and hope you will react to more Aria songs in future. The lyrics breakdown was not something I expected from an English-speaking reactor, so I really appreciate it.
If you accept requests, I strongly recommend listening to the song called "Ночь короче дня" (The Night is Shorter than the Day) from the same-named 1994 album. The guitar solo there is so epic, I can forget myself when listening to it. The song is about a man who is going to be executed the next day.

I APRICIATE ARIA REACTIONS! but, i kinda feel like they have songs that will suit to your taste more. check armageddon (Армагеддон) album 2006 (not 2020!!!) it is their second album with new vocalist, music became heavier and voсals are more brutal. Blood of the kings (Кровь королей) is amazing song with great guitars, check that out!
The last phrase in the lyrics in the correct translation will sound something like this: "Born from dust, must become dust again"

@@vasilyaver5246 не, имеется в виду именно прах. Из праха вышел и прахом станешь. Earth - это именно что планета. Земля в смысле почва - это soil. Но все же именно в данном случае самый правильный вариант - это dust. По крайней мере полностью отражает суть. Просто у нас "земля" - это и планета и почва.
@@Catovaria Нет, не только у нас. В английском языке слово earth с маленькой буквы - это тоже и чернозем, и синоним land. Так что игра слов сохраняется.
А в dust теряется противопоставление наземных и летающих.

The automated translation programs such as "google translate" rarely grasp the complexity of Russian language due to the "case" system which takes on a lot of responsibilities the sentence structure bears in English. But anyhow... "Those who were born on earth, must, once again, become earth." Is what that phrase means.
And yes, dust to dust is the general sentiment.

I really like how you often find right words and simple explanations for rather vague songs.
Icarus references - sure, but the song mainly references Nietzsche’s philosophy about virtues of courage.
Also, eh, too bad only Russian-speaking listeners could appreciate the synergy between lyrics and music in the 2nd verse and the visceral falling and crashing after the solo.

@@realBlakeX I suggest Second to Sun's Leviathan or Ultar's Midnight Walk and Reminiscence of Necromancy I would say My Rope but it would probably end up blocked. Twin brothers Gleb and Max both in Ultar, have another side project called
Grima. Gleb is the vocals for all three bands.
