My other favorite tune from this band is tittle: "follow me" there's also a very good version with the lead singer Valery Kipelov new band called: Kipelov ... they are a bit heavier than Aria but still very melodic with amazing guitars and of course Kipelow soaring vocals! The live version of "Follow me" by Kipelov is pretty awesome.Based on this reaction i think you would love "follow me" The lyrics of course are deep, philosophic and poetic ... by the Russian poet: Margarita Pushkina i think, who Aria base many of their tunes. my friend. А это же слышно. Тут работает память и аналитическая память. Если часто слушать хорошую музыку и вокалистов, то сразу начнешь вылавливать хорошие голоса
The best lead singer of Aria, Valery Kipelov, has his own band called Kipelov, I recommend listening to Prorok (Prophet), it has unreal guitar riffs by Sergei Mavrin, one of the best guitarists in Russia. This band also has probably the most famous Russian rock composition of the last two decades called "Я свободен!" (I'm Free!). It's a very powerful song that gives you goosebumps.
For a metalhead, these songs will not be in the top. They have become more popular among ordinary people, and not fans of heavy music

* Отшельник (the Hermit) - from the album Генератор Зла (the Generator of Evil), 1998
* Ночь Короче Дня (Night is Shorter Than Day) from the album with the same name, 1995
* Ангельская Пыль (Angel Dust) from the album Night is Shorter Than Day, 1995

Из альбома "Кровь за кровь" обязательно нужно познакомиться с такими песнями как : не хочешь- не верь мне, Кровь за кровь, антихрист,бесы,все что было )
Короче говоря, все песни послушать😁😁, альбом стоит того
ну кстати не вполне соглашусь). Не хочешь - не верь мне на мой взгляд самая слабая песня альбома и довольно проходная в целом. А вот остальные да - хитяры на все времена. Кровь за кровь композиционно и по гитаре вообще моя любимая песня у Арии из всех!

Дубинин не создавал Арию, но придя после 2х выпущенных альбомов, сделал очень много для величия арии

Answering your question about metal criticism in Russia - back in USSR days occult themes were mostly banned mainly to the cause of Bolsheviks positivistic course of the culture. Later, when Perestroika began to raise it's power, this themes started to come up slowly from the underground to the public (in music with the rise of first big metal bands like Aria). When USSR fell apart, criminal 90s began and whole taboo thing was kinda forgotten. It was a wild times, when in one scene you could hear Sunshine Pop for kids and then some trash-metal opus about eating babies (and sometimes even both at the same time). Also, Russian Church was still weak during early 90s, so in here even from the begining it was more about the conservative block than the Christian.

Surely no one will read my comment anymore ... but still I want to say. In 1987-89 I served in the Soviet army. We had a tape recorder and the only thing we were allowed to listen to (because our commander was a big fan) was the only album of Aria's "Asphalt Hero" at that time. Since then, Aria has been walking with me through life.

When you are mentally prepared, you can try to listen to a "metal lullaby" song from Aria called "Paradise Lost"/"Потерянный рай". And as usual, without the lyrics, it may not be entirely clear why the song is as it is.
And if you want Power Fantasy metal then we have Epidemic/Эпидемия, for you, for a general presentation "Legend for all time"/"Сказание на все времена" I advise. I can give a link to their recording of the song at the 2019 concert, everything is well shown there.

I have one great band for you! Черный кофе (Black coffee). They even have english version of some albums, they had some tours in the europe and US. I recommend you start from these: Владимирская русь (there are 3 versions of the song, all of them are great, I love 1989 y version), Брожу по городу один, Golden lady ( this one from translated album, but russian version is more poetic for me, eg if you translate directly the name it would be Lady autumn, which is more meaningfull). So, there are lot of greatsomgs, I listed songs which I think would ve a great introduction of the band Black coffee. P.s. listen to studio versions
