As an introvert myself, I understand and empathize with these struggles. Thank you for sharing your journey, Jay. Cheers!
Thanks Jackie - always appreciate you in the comments 🙏
hardest part for me is taking the camera out of the bag when im ready to shoot, especially when you're visiting well known tourist spots. always that lingering feeling of everyone is going to think im yet another instagram flog doing it for social media likes (i dont even have instagram anymore) but as soon as i've taken that first photo, the confidence comes back and im in the zone. i dont notice people on the street when i've got the camera out, i only see subjects.
but now my biggest concern is switching off from photo mode to just sit and enjoy the space as you said, because im always going to see something and think 'damn i wish i had my camera'. im trying to get into the habit of taking a coffee or lunch or something to a popular spot (lets say, the eiffel tower for example) and just taking 10 minutes to sit, slow down and take it in before picking up the camera to do my shots. everyone can take the same photo, but what you dont get from someone else's photo is the memory of where you were - the sounds, the smells, the tastes, the temperature etc that enhance your own photos if you take the time to absorb those moments.
Yeah spot on 👍
Really loved this and your photographs are superb !
Thank you so much! Means a lot
Recommend galaxy buds fe turnoff noise cancle listen musics and make sound volume low. Good way to go outside and photo alone.
I went out today and just didn't feel it. I took a few shots. But with tons and tons of people around (wandered into an Oktoberfest event I didn't know was happening), I just didn't feel it. A few days before, I was deep in a crowd (Salem, Massachusetts in October is basically mayhem) and grabbed some swell shots. But maybe that's what it was? I had enough?
So I loved this video, loved your openness, and I'm glad you're out there, Jay.
Thanks Chris and thanks for sharing to the channel - appreciate it!
I can relate to this video 💯
Thanks for watching 🙏
The only thing that helps with my introversion and social anxiety, especially while doing street photography, is to be with my partner or friends. I feel so weird breaking out the camera and taking photos when I'm alone. Traveling definitely helps with that for me, as I feel much more anonymous or like it's slightly more acceptable if I'm clearly a tourist, that these people will never see me again... as doing photography in my home city feels impossible at times lol. Though I don't shoot people when I do street, it's just architecture and urban landscape, so that also helps as well not getting in peoples faces and interacting. These days I carry my camera everyday, so I am trying to shoot (or at least be ready to photograph) as much as possible.
It definitely feels like one can get stuck in their head when shooting on the streets
Everybody goes through this. Clicking good pictures while thinking of youtube and figuring out the algorithm and at the same time working out life and not to include the financial factor, what most people dont understand is this is a difficult gig. Oh i forgot editing. All I will is things workout in the end.

Have you read Quiet by Susan Cain? Highly recommended.
No but you’re the second person to recommend it to me now. Maybe I should
Great video. Love the mobile app for help. Brilliant idea.
A trained professional, I think, saved my marriage, and my life. Serious. Deadly serious.
If you're in a dark place seek help.
But let your friends or your partner love you. I don't think it's a matter of fair. There's no ledger in love.
If a person loves you only because they get a good time from you and don't want to know you in hard times then they don't love YOU, they love THEMSELVES.
If a person loves you they will look after you whether they are having a good time or not because love does not exist in the emotions. It exists in the will. The highest form of love is sacrificial.
How do you think your loved ones might feel if you don't want them to love you? You're not loving them by keeping something of yourself hidden from them. By doing so you're not giving all of yourself to them and the relationship is incomplete.
Sorry to bang on about this but I think the attitude today of `just throw me away when I'm not uselful anymore' is destroying our collective soul. It makes us unhuman and inhumane.
Introverts doing street photography does not make any sense. Introverts usually choose landscape and nature photography. :)
