@@giqxo depends which phone you tried miui 13 on if it's a budget or midrange it might feel slower cuz the Android version increased hence it became heavier it applies to all brands not just Xiaomi
Using Pixel OS custom ROM with Android 13 and security patch of November on my Redmi Note 10 Pro. It's always fun to have latest Android version and security patch on to your phone even if it's budget and knowing that company will never rollout latest any Android version after 12! It's powerful, smooth and rocking 🤟
Developers of PE and Pixel OS are doing fabulous job in terms of software user experience on budget and some flagship devices! They know that everyone has a right to do so. Thanks to them as they do this in their free time. A big salute to devs ❤️

I would prefer internal optimization than design changes, finally Xiaomi listened.
they never lmao. Look how many reports came after people updating to MIUI 14, app crashes, screen magnifying.. etc They only gave MIUI 14 "lite" version to global. Even if there is optimizations in global one it is almost little to none. All other optimizations and new feature only in China 🤡
Tbh I was so hyped about MIUI 14 but after seeing this,it just killed that spirit, but still I believe Xiaomi will be rolling out new features soon but seeing that they're now focused on stability, not sure new features will be coming anytime from now🚶🏽♂️🤦🏾♂️

@@techdroider For now only the lock screen customisation is "exciting", but if they would do that, they will be blamed again for copying Apple. Material you for icons is still at the point when I'll not use it (because a lot of apps don't support it and I'm using folders). For other parts from system, I used the module, and at the end I still ended using the default Miui's style. For majority I saw that this function is unnecessary for Miui

MIUI has, remove people from photos, AI sky replacement, image separation from background, AI image text recognition, double the frame rate in videos, upscale resolution of videos, AI auto HDR in any video, highest benchmark scores when compared to phones with same Soc, magic zoom , video clone, time freeze, forced dark mode in 3rd party apps, sounds with screen off in RUclips, best game launcher, volume control panel without pressing buttons, immersive sound and most of these like from miui 11. Who else gives this many cool features. With these kinds of features, i wouldn't care much about lock screen customisation.
I agree Xiaomi should do the lock screen customisation and color palette choices to match the competitors (Samsung pixel ...) Even apple .

But what about the family cloud groups, the new magic center + faster communication with other devices, more memory expansion options, refresh rate options, live translating in meetings, copying text from images directly, dual WiFi connection, less bloatware, photon engine, less consuming space, more floating windows support+ smart bubbles and media player in cc, etc. All of these aren't changes from the official Miui 13?
I understand you wanted a copy of iOS lockscreen, but if you read for what Miui users asked for, you'll see that they're not wanting these, or features/changes at all in the UI
You just mentioned all useless features 99% users won't use. Who does Live Meeting from Xiaomi Phones? Since when Less Bloatware became a feature? More Memory Expansion is already there in MIUI 13.2, Refresh Rate Option is the most useless feature, most apps doesn't even support 120Hz, those who do can rely on System Refresh Rate. More Floating Window there on MIUI 13.2 too.
@@rakeshpant6685 1. Who does live meetings on xiaomi phones? Dude wtf, everyone at least 1 time had a meeting and they used their phones, let's be real now.
2. Less bloatware and ads is a feature, nowadays even Apple wants to introduce ads, and if you have a choice to keep what "features" you want, it's an advantage.
3. About the refresh rate feature, actually almost every app supports higher refresh rate, (the only app I saw without it, is Google maps and some games, lol), and with that option you can just customise the refresh rate for each app for saving battery, which is awesome.
4. MIUI 13.2 isn't a miui generation, 13.2 is the test android 13 version which got also released (just for a few phones) because the 14 was postponed. It is based on their lasts Dev ROMs which was prepared and tested some things for Miui 14, so it is partially a Miui 14 branded as 13.2. If it is the same ROM as 13, we should get Miui's 14 features in 13 as well.

It isn't Bloat-free, the point was you can make it Bloat-free by Uninstalling more system apps

Have you Installed MIUI 14 Vault, and other APKs? Add some Widgets, Dog, Cat

I wish Xiaomi let us change the size of the icons and text in the status bar. Always end up having to root to do that and using a mod.
MIUI doesn't need to be change, it looks good enough! All it needs the stability/ less buggy that's all!
Even Funtoch Os/ Color Os or Oxygen OS didn't have lock screen customisation and latest Oxygen OS 13 is similar to 12 only with few minor changes! MIUI is not alone so

i like miui 14. The big changes were in stability and mi smart hub which is a big deal imo. Makes bluetooth or home device control/ switch alot easier. One of the underrated features is to set custom refresh rate for each app so even if the phone doesnt have ltpo will be fine
It is as stable as MIUI 13. Xiaomi 12s Ultra is a Flagship and Software Stability won't affect it much. About the Individual RR for each App, that's going to be Super Unstable.
You defending this crap is going to make MIUI worse in the future. They claimed MIUI is focusing on bug fixes since MIUI 11. And it stays the same till now. Stable updates should be stable it does not even need to be a new version. Now it lacks some basic android features like material you theming and themed icons. They update some launcher widgets and claim it is a new system update is just a ridiculous move to fool idiots like yourself.

@@superiorkaos But it is the main highlighted feature since android 12 and all other major oems has implemented it. While there are people who don't care about it, a vast majority of users want it too.

Material u control centre is a feature as it changes how you interact with the phone but no one other than pixel implements it

Change list
- optimize RAM management so apps don't silently close in background or warn users before closing.
- bring back easy access to split screen while gesture navigation is on. It's upsetting that I can't watch RUclips and take notes simultaneously without using floating Windows because the option isn't readily available.
- remove volume from control center (you have dedicated physical buttons, that's a waste of interface real estate) and replace it with something important like device stats at a glance.
- improve notifications management to make it possible to remove all but priority set notifications quickly.
- Increase customization of the app vault. It should just be a scrollable widget screen with better widget layout. It can also be unstable at times so yeah...
- resolve the small things like control center/notification shade become opaque.
- have a better file manager with more options. You can easily reduce bloatware by combining separate apps and presenting them like features of your file manager. A good benchmark is ES File Explorer.
- your music player sucks real mushed beans. 3rd party music players are more responsive and optimised.
- stop hiding important advanced features like side bar, quickball and floating windows in settings. Put them on control center instead of dumb volume button.

Thank you for such a straight and honest review. I cannot understand how Xiaomi fans can defend this. The only change they did in MIUI 14 was a new Logo. People defending this are damaging the brand for the long term.
It is easy to expect more while you are paying phone that cost less. Less cost mean less budget for R&D and developer, are you willing to pay high price like samsung phone? Otherwise what you pay is what you get.

It was, but no more. OneUI, ColorOS and iOS got way way more Customisation / System Level features and MIUI 14 ain't even close to that.

No changes at all.. that is why im moving out of xiaomi phones.. been a fan of them for years.. they keep copying apple and embracing it whch is very dissapointing.. they should improve miui wth material you and make it more stock and more of an android way not apple way..

U people like criticizing miui they add features u say it's bloated and makes phone unstable besides why would one need configuration for lockscreen on miui when it already has the best wallpapers around being super wallpapers the reason I bought Xiaomi phones in the first place also miui is really customizable even up to dark mode u can force some apps to become dark and for gamers w can also boost fps very important I recommend u try it with egg ns emulator u can boost some games from 30 to up to 45 or 50 fps
If you compare MIUI with Pixel UI or OneUI or any other UI, MIUI is falling behind in every single department

MIUI 14 is all about Photon engine which improves performance smoothness while saving battery
I've Compared both MIUI 13 and MIUI 14, there's literally no change in the Smoothness or Animation. Flagships are already fast, but it's not any faster than before.
@@techdroider Photon engine isn't available for all Miui 14 devices from the first build, just 13/13 pro. They said all Miui 14 devices will support it, but it needs to be implemented for each phone model, so they'll release it in batches

MIUI has always been designed by keeping the chinese customers in mind. I dont know why but I always get a chinese vide from the MIUI. Obviously they are following thier old design model which is copying iOS while providing some additional feature. Pet widget in kinda nice but I cannot think of any use of it. But yeah considering no UI has undergone any major change this is what I was expecting from miui.

Well I've had nothing but problems.. it's totally screwed mt apps and logins, I can't access outlook anymore I can't access numerous apps and Bluetooth options not happening eg default app the update is utter crap

@TechDroider was isn't enough, I want it full stability and smoothness, from your video I can tell miui 14 is much smoother and faster than 13. I am using Fold 4 but when I playing mobile legend I am using xiaomi note 10s. Samsung come to gaming isn't very responsive, many other gamer have same sentiment.
I have miui 14 global version, Absolutely nothing has changed, the design looks outdated, like I am using my old Huawei from 2018, no new widgets, no features, no animations, just the plain miui 12.5 but with name changed to miui 14. They have neglected the global version of MIUI and is just boring.
Basically MIUI 14 comes in a new wrapper with old UI & at the end is disappointing
