  • This is the fourth week of Christmas Themed Watercolor Tutorials! I may mention in the video that this is the last or final tutorial, but JUST KIDDING! I will have another Christmas/winter-themed watercolor tutorial for you next week as well. Next week's video will be based on a very short sketch I made (seriously I made it in 5 minutes) but that has become a bit of a hit on Instagram. I think you'll love it!
Anyway... this week we're painting a Christmas "flatlay." That just means an image or a style of image in which a number of things are arranged on a surface and then photographed from above - in this case, sketched and painted from above.
Each week so far we have made images to go on Christmas cards, but this one is a bit different as I painted it in my sketchbook. What I love about this one is that you can continue along in making Christmas cards and choose just a few of the items from this tutorial to paint, or you can make a bigger painting and give it as a gift perhaps, or use it as decor for the cozy season.
In this tutorial, I use watercolor (various brands), and Prismacolor Col-Erase colored pencils.
Enjoy and see you next week for another tutorial!
