This why I love your channel. Not only can I get a peek into your studio life and learn new things but I also get to experience a different form of art in play. Your cinematography is amazing and the sound production fit perfectly. You are a great filmmaker!
Thank you so very much! Yes for me videography is just another creative outlet for me to express myself. I feel like I haven't been pushing myself lately to create something different but I do hope I will get to experiment more this year.
This is a beautiful film - very cinematic. I remember making paper just once in art class at school. But only doing one piece. And I think the teacher had produced the pulp (maybe we were too young at the time). Anyway, it’s one thing to understand the process and another thing to see it like this. The film might not be what you envisaged exactly but it’s very powerful to the senses and sensations involved. And the end result of your paper looks gorgeous! Thanks as ever for thinking creatively and sharing your ideas and results with us. 🖤
Oh this is such a short view into what it is like. After filming this I have changed lots of things and it definitely shows in the quality of the sheets formed. I can't wait to share them with you all soon. and hope to share a longer video as well. thank you for being here Amy 🙏🏼❤️
Thats the thing. I keep changing everything 😂So I will film that longer version as soon as I have everything I need. Almost all the things I used here I have changed. 🙈
Is that commercial felt that you used for a releasing pad? My slick wood isn’t working so great. I think I need something more absorbent but without a texture that would transfer to the paper. Thank you very much for your inspiration.
Along with making handmade papers beautifully, your videos are incredible 👍❤️ I once created shop on Etsy but closed that due to lack of resources and ideas, but you great😊
Near to me, we have little Hous where are Historical Thinks and there they made handmade Paper from Cotton. And its almoust the same Process. I was there for 1 time this Sommer. I would love to show you it, if you were here. 👌👍 Great Video. Inspector is cute ❤️🙋♀️happy christmas if you celebrate ☃️
I've watched alot of paper making videos but that was the most beautiful video I've ever seen, thinking about it I'v never watched that kind of videos on youtube It was so fun to watch and I'm impressed with the videographey skills like Wow! Keep going, darling You got a new sub
A lovely episode. I remember making paper on one occasion when I was younger. I look forward to your more in-depth video in the future. Wishing you a Merry Christmas 🎄🌟❤️
To make acid free paper all you have to do is add some additives. Calcium carbonate is used for that. I use a sizing which also adds acid free properties to the paper but if you want it to be perfectly acid free I suggest calcium carbonate ❤️
Oh I do not recommend the one I'm using. and in fact I am still experimenting with a variety of different materials and methods. So far I am enjoying the alternative felts from Carriage House Paper but there's a few others I want to try out first. I will film a more in depth one as soon and list some supplies I use 😍
Softly Studio thank you so much for your reply. I was pondering on what would be the best material to use. You need absorbency but also something that doesn’t adhere to your paper? A conundrum. I look forward to your future vlogs. Thank you again. Xxx
What is the peach colored stuff in the blender? I don't know how to make paper but its soo interesting watching how to do it. Maybe i should try making my own for my T.N. inserts....and see that you helper/boss always needs to inspect the product lol 😆 so cute! 😊😸
The peachy pink is actually the pulp for the paper. I do add some white cotton linters to strengthen the pulp 😊And you totally should, it's so much fun and rewarding to see the results 😍Oh yes she's the most curious of them all 😂❤️
I will shoot a more in depth step by step process next and also youtube is a huge source for information. Just keep watching and reading. I did that for weeks before actually starting 😍
Beautiful video! I've tried this myself but always struggle with transfering the wet paper to a place where it can dry. When you press the frame down on the grey fabric, do you wait long for it to dry before taking off the frame? Do you have any other tips for this step?
You should be able to lift it right away. I don't recommend the felts I'm using and here I used a dry technique but wetting the felt or fabric you are using first will make it easier to remove as well. But before transferring the paper to the sheet waiting a little bit by letting as much water drain helps to avoid the paper from moving or breaking. I usually work with two molds to give the first time to drain before transferring it. I hope these tips help. 😊
As someone that is familiarized with recycled paper making, do you think there is a way to make it thin enough to be printable... I kinda have an idea for my wedding invitation and stationery, and I would love to make it myself, but i'm not that experienced so i want to know if it's worth a shot or not... Thanks
Of course there is. I mean you can make it to any weight you would like. But the issue with thinner sheets of handmade paper is that it's more fragile and may not even be best to handle the printer. All you have to do is use less pulp to get thinner sheet. However, I have printed on 150 gsm handmade paper before and printers can usually handle that thickness ❤️
Hai, I really love your video. Recently I just started making handmade paper, but I got problem when I want to move the pulp to the towel, the pulp can't move, instead it sticks to the deckle, can you give me tips for that problem?
It's probably the towel, you should use a material that'll work. If you're not looking to get professional couching sheets, or pellon, you can try cotton sheets. And having them wet also helps for the pulp to stick to. The ones I'm using are synthetic felts but I don't recommend as they give a very rough texture to the paper.
Hand beating maybe? You can get the pulp soaked for as long as needed to soften it and use any wooden stick to beat it. It's slow and tiring but that technique is used for a lot of Japanese fibers.
This why I love your channel. Not only can I get a peek into your studio life and learn new things but I also get to experience a different form of art in play. Your cinematography is amazing and the sound production fit perfectly. You are a great filmmaker!

Absolutely lovely. Thank you for bringing art back into the world. Much needed today.
Why did I cry on someone making paper?
Along with making handmade papers beautifully, your videos are incredible 👍❤️ I once created shop on Etsy but closed that due to lack of resources and ideas, but you great😊
Such helpful assistants! And a return to slow-mo! And woman, the timing with the soundtrack was divine. The glory and romance of papermaking captured.
I tried to capture how I feel when making paper. The movement and flow is just so relaxing and calming as well as the sound of water dripping 😍❤️
this turned out pretty. I'd like to try my hand at making water color paper for my journals I sell. Fingers crossed.

Stunning cinematic style video- thank you Shereena. I can only imagine the hard work putting it all together- and the paper making too! Love Mand XOXO
Oh but it's such a calming and satisfying activity. Im sort of obsessed with it lately. ❤️❤️❤️
I have made a lot of paper - it’s a wonderful feeling to run your fingers through paper pulp.
This is so relaxing 😍
So beautiful! I would love to make some time for paper making next year
You really should. It's so nice to see what sort of papers you end up making 😍❤️
Love this video! Great Job.
Just wondering, does drying it on the felt add to the texture?
Pretty warm colours, love the process u make the paper shereena and your curious girls hanging around 😆
It's such a relaxing and calming activity 😍
that was really cool to see! Such pretty paper.. and I love the way you film. I hope to make my channel as beautiful as yours someday.

Wow Amazing. Beautiful vidéo 😍
Excuse me, i am new to handmade paper-making. May i ask what is the black fabric called? Thanks in advance
this is so beautiful! i want to try this someday
Hi, what camera do you use? Lovely video btw
Oh my goodness you really are so talented 💕 thank you for sharing your artistic ability with the world! ☺️Where did you get your mould and deckle?

Oh yes she's checking the results with me ❤️Its not hard at all, just requires lots of patience and time 😍
where did you buy the screen printing?
Did u make your own music? I love your videos, especially this one it calms me, the music the color and everything in it great content! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
No I use Musicbed.com ❤️ So happy to hear that! 🙏🏼
Can I bind recycled paper into a notebook or will the paper break as soon as I try to punch a hole in them before I could even tie the string?
No I think they should be fine. Also depending on the strength of the papers. It's worth a try I think ❤️
What is that black fabric you used?
What is the name of fabric used in laying out the paper?
Where can I buy that wooden frame to make paper?
What's the white thing did you put in?

I am 13 years old. But I like your video so much. love you
What is the black base that you use to dry papers?
It was felts but I no longer use them now, just creates too much of a textured look. 🙈
That kitty is so well behaved, though. If I tried this at home there would be no paper left by the time they should be dry. 😅😅😅
Whats the name of that black cloth??
Someone depression can be healed too with this
Just wawww ❤️❤️
Can u use recycled paper in the printer?
That's something I thought I would test much further along but from experience of other handmade papers in my printer, it can be hard. 🙈
Love your work
how do u kno they all have the same thickness? or you don't? haha. love the video! :)
I really don't. but i mean there are tools you can measure paper thickness but since I'm just starting out I kind of eyeball it 🙈❤️
@@SoftlyStudio thank u!! inspired to start my own shop bec of u :D keep up the good work luv
What kind of black mat is that ?
They are felts.
Thankyou for sharing
How did she make using a blender sound so peaceful man
By not including the sound of the blender.
Hahhaa yes I did lower the volume 😂❤️ It was a little too loud 😊
love this 💖
Thank you so much ❤️
what is name the black one?
What's that material?
I just love Ur videos ❤️
Wow ❤️ it
What are the ingredients
It's beautiful but the background music feels like a film is ending with aliens living earth
