Maybe I’m missing something, but what exactly did you learn from this? Is it just data ? was the toxic emitters destroyed and do you think they’re worth it…they don’t seem to provide protection for any useable length of time. This is the first video on my feed that I’ve seen players actually using them, so thanks cmdr ..fly safe o7
You don't need the sink to enter the maelstrom, a ship with a lot of hull reinforcement will get you started. The sinks allow you to stay in there longer before the caustic starts eating away at the hull
Yes, but I think overheating will still be the way to go. I did a test last night, the sinks hold around 2.5 scouts missiles before you start taking caustic damage. A Cyclops missile round fills up the sink and you start taking caustic damage right away. More testing to be done at weekend but for me on my AX Krait I think I will be sticking with burning it off
@@epaphus No it's not at the mega ship from the CG .. you go there to claim your reward. It's on any of the Rescue ships that are on the Galaxy map. The invasion ones.

To be fair Aegis made them to aid Maelstrom research rather than combat so I didn't expect them to be good in combat. At the moment they seem to be doing well for the intended purpose.
@@c0baltl1ghtn1ng Imagine this as a container to collect the caustic goop. when it's full, you start to get damage. Before that, you got no damage at all. So if it gets full, throw one, the next one will collect the goop again for you. From my point of view it works well. Engineer it can give 8 ammo in total. But as said by other cmdrs, it works better in research, rather than in battle. Sometimes you only need a continous shot of shards to get rid of any goop. 300+ degree burns them up.
Well done, Commander! Limpets or no, if enough are as skilled as you, we may get all the information we need to drive out the Thargoids and win this war! A huge O7 to you! 🫡
not sure i understand what you are doing here ? if simply showing how the sinks work ok, but what time wasted not collectig the materials ? I saw no indication that you collected anything here ?
Mhm I dunno, for me it still looks like that I am more efficient without them. You can get a bunch of tissues without getting caustic damage. They will only be good to survive longer when going really deep but for now they are redundant in my opinion.
I love this game
I haven't even the faintest understanding of what I just witnessed.
That Dolphin is impressive sitting there at 16% heat, are you able to post the build you've used?
Sure - edsy.org/s/voTZkox
A stock Dolphin is immune to heat, well almost.
they should just cover the ships with whatever coating is on the limpets...
it operate in different way than i thought. but 6 ammo... idk its enough
and this is strange that u need caustic sink to go maelstrom but to get sink u need to go maelstrom

@@epaphus aha thnaks for info
You forgot to add "and then take a Futuromace to celebrate"
Will this decontaminate you from eating goid missile?
Probably not just have burn it of or decon limpit as normal.

So do I have to "fire" the Caustic Sink Launcher twice? Once to suck up the goop and again to launch the spent sink?
You only need to fire the spent sink. It automatically gathers the goop
so where do you find the Techbroker to make the blueprint ?
I believe its on the rescue megaships, the one I have is from the CG.

I love the "Leo" COVAS voice - though I'd love it even more if it added "Dave " to everything.
"Caustic Damage Removed Dave"
"Taking Damage Dave"
Or "Dude"
Only if you have a Cat on board ;)
Does this also work with the thargoids caustic missiles or just with these maelstrom thingies?

@@epaphus so its essentially pointless for combat applications
Once again a great job by aegis...

@@epaphus Does it get rid of the Caustic entirely? Or is it just temporary mitigation from the damage?

I collected a couple of tissue samples, I was just seeing how the sinks worked so didn't want to get blown up by the caustic generator.
Can you engineer them? 6 ammo is pathetic
I've heard they can be engineered with the heatsink ammo modification
Yes, i tried, up to 8. The normal heat sink launcher engineering works on it.
