Such a great song. I remember my parents used to listen to the Dusty Springfield version when I was a teen. I quite liked it musically but I didn't really get the words. Now I'm older, I do. :)
The photo is of the original Pretenderrs (1978-82), but this was recorded in the late 1990's with another lineup. In my Pretenders playlist with the 1st recording by Goldie in 1966, 2 versions by the Byrds and one by the songwriter herself from 1980. Thanks for uploading!

@@marcofiordelmondo531 You're right. On their 1968 album, "The Notorious Byrd Brothers," after first being released as a single in late 1967. David Crosby threw such a fit over releasing a cover of a Carole King song as their single that they tossed him out of the band and replaced his image on the album cover with a horse.
Let's face it, it's probably the worst of the covers of 'Goin' Back' (and not one of The Pretenders' finest moments), but a fine end to a fine film, 'Fever Pitch'.
