I love how the beginning of the song talks about how lost he was, and how the Father adopted him by grace along. Then talked about how Christ saved him by grace along. Then talks about how the Spirit continues the work in him by grace alone. It's cool how the song kind of works the same way our walk with God goes. It doesn't have over-cliche phases like a lot of christian songs, not terribly musically complicated, but amazing words that paint an amazing picture of God's grace.
Jesus is King! 👑🩵💕🦋💕🩵 Jesus died on the cross for our sins and rose from the dead three days later. Repent and believe in him as your Lord and Savior and you will be saved! @@IronSharpensIron127 You are correct. BY grace, THROUGH faith. Grace is how it’s done, faith is how the “how” is actioned. Paul has been talking about how salvation has been accomplished. In v.5 he even interrupts his own thoughts mid sentence to preface v8-9 simply by stating “by grace you have been saved.” Paul’s main focus in Ephesians 2 isn’t our faith, it’s God’s grace and love for us. We were once dead, but now made alive with God by faith in Christ Jesus because He is graceful and loving. If He wasn’t graceful by His own nature, He wouldn’t have given us His Son; if we didn’t have Jesus, we wouldn’t have propitiation through His sacrifice… you can go on and on and on. But ultimately none of this is possible without God’s overarching grace. If God wasn’t full of grace, none of the rest happens. It’s only by His grace and love that our adoption and salvation are possible. So am I wrong to thank my God for His grace and lovingkindness?
@@scottpilgrim4027 no you are not wrong! And what you have just stated is 100%. But I promise you that these people are Calvinist you listen to. The part where they say that God predestined them to be saved is un-biblical. Romans 8 says that those saved are predestined to be like Christ and be with him forever. Calvinist do not believe that, they believe that Jesus only died for some, and if you are not one of those you are predestined to Hell. Calvinist are not Christian. Satan comes as an angel of light. I was a Calvinist thank God that He left his word with us to decipher the difference. Part of what God has called me to is to call out Calvinism and their false gospel, which is very deceiving.

We actually need more Christian bands that have that The Cure sound to them, that or dream pop sounds like Wild Nothing or the like. But I do not like the tone of the voice that most of these Christians singers adopt, it's not smooth sounding.
Leslie Nicole oh really? There’s multiple sub genres within indie music as a whole that only deal in soft sounds and vocals, such as indie folk and indie pop, but it seems like even in those subgenres, most Christian bands still use boring, not so smooth sound and vocals. I’ve found only two bands that fit what I was looking for (Fine China and Ester Drang), but either they don’t perform as much anymore, or some songs sound too poppy/boring (respectively).
@@rubenthekid I totally understand you, I've been trying to find christain bands that match the kind of music I like and it's so difficult!! In a big indie pop and indie rockperson, so it makes sense why we don't see eye to eye on vocals haha but yeah, GOOD christain indie music is hard to find
Through faith alone, 'by' grace alone. Faith and grace play different roles in salvation. Neither are mutually exclusive and both are required for salvation. Discussing only one in a song doesn't disprove the importance of the other.

Yeah but it's totally un-biblical. These people are Calvinist not Christian. Beware Satan comes as an angel of light.
I’m a child of God by grace and grace alone. Thank you Lord for your grace.
Actually it's by grace through faith is what the Bible says

Thanks for this Beacon of Warm Light, in the cold, dark, hellish night; thank you my dear friend. You know who you are.
This song touched me, I heard for the first time in church today and shared to all my friends.....
It's Calvinism, not Christian
Did he write these lyrics himself? The lyrics are incredibly deep. And the poetry is on point. This is an incredible song lyrically.
Agreed so much ❤

Great song :) The lyrics are spot-on. Also, this version's guitar sounds like "The Cure".

Ruben Contreras exactly
that's the point tho, it's indie music, it's not supposed to be 'soft'

But I hate indie folk, so that sub genre doesn’t mean anything to me.

Efesios 5:25
Another comment.
The CURE anyone?
Good song that isn’t churchy, but we are saved by grace through faith, not grace alone. Ephesians 2:8
Through faith alone, 'by' grace alone. Faith and grace play different roles in salvation. Neither are mutually exclusive and both are required for salvation. Discussing only one in a song doesn't disprove the importance of the other.
So you believe that God's grace isn't the only thing that saved you? Maybe reread Ephesians 1 and 2
we have been saved by grace through faith through faith
it is all because of faith that we have grace without grace we are not saved
Glad you caught it, these aren't Christian they are Calvinist. Satan comes as an angel of light
@@tompryde9598they are Calvinist not Christian
People need to listen to the lyrics and not just sing them there is a meaning missed on a lot of songs
Yeah if they listen to the lyrics and read their Bible they will know this is Calvinist not Christian
