Big burly men sometimes have the daintiest hobbies to calm them down. Remember Rosie Greer was a big badass football player and when he wasn't playing he was an expert at needlepoint. Makes perfect sense to me Capt. Phil would enjoy making birdfeeders.
I really thought this was quiet very Cool of my very Close Darling Freind Phil to be building these Masterpieces of Bird Feeders at that.We use to talk on the phone about those as well.I told him I really thought it was really Awesomely Cool!! for a Great Gentleman as he is can do something else on the side while not Crab Fishing there is more to life than him doing his usual job out on the Bering Sea.I truly Miss,Care,&Love Him.Always,Catch61PL
Its not embarrasing at all. If he didn't have this soft side then he wouldn't have been as cool. Anybody worth being around has to have a soft side or else they would be a jerk. R.I.P. Phil Harris. God Bless his family.
Captain Deadliest Catch Crabman Phil harris was a right guy to have a laugh with especially when it came to his Duck farts drink none of the other captains from the other boats on the Deadliest Catch television show could do so

Why not. Just cause he had a lot of money doesn’t mean he had to go and spend it on a nice house. He spent a lot of time out fishing so why have a huge nice house if you spend more time fishing than at home. His money, his choice on how and what to spend it on.
He had mansions but due to divorce was given to the wives. So he just decided to live in a trailer. Which was not your typical trailer it was decked out. That’s what the boys said in their book they wrote about their father.
I would absolutely love to own one of his bird feeders. His passing shook me to my core.
