Glad to see you are making a steady recovery from your eye operation. Hope you’ve all stayed safe from the storms? Sorry you were missing some Lego figures.
The snapshot artwork of your dog is beautiful! I loved the upshot of the iron girders bridge near the end of the video! Thank you all for sharing! Bet you wish you had a monocle! 😊❤👍
How Salford has changed! I was last there in 2001 as a late friend of mine had a concert at the Lowry. Nice that they've kept the waterway clear and accessible, would be great to see it used again. Glad you're doing ok, I have opposite problem with my glasses, on for distance, off from close up - not fun when crocheting and trying to watch tv lol Love to all xx🐾
My dad sailed into salford from Belfast/Larne delivering peat .. and taking back flour to Northern Ireland in the 1950s he was 16 until he was 18years then moved to Bradford to work in the mills. Ended up in Halifax at crossleys carpets the world largest carpet manufacturer at Dean Clough .. which is now home to offices, bars gallerys and events
We loved the Imperial War Museum in London. Maybe the Manchester one will improve as they increase the collection. And yay, some Lego figures at least.
Yay! Lego people! Glad you are feeling better after your cataract surgery. Enjoyed the train footage. Thanks for sharing the war museum with us. I was like hey, that’s a harrier, and the markings looked a little familiar. Oh well 😊. We are in it together! Sure do love learning of the area you visit. Manchester is beautiful. Thanks for sharing your adventures with us.
The figure near to Pudsy Bear is Upsy Daisy from the children's TV program for pre-schoolers, In The Night Garden. Created by the same chap responsible for the Telly Tubbies, and narrated by Derek Jacobi. You're welcome.😎
We visited the museum and memorial to 9/11 recently. Seeing the mangled steelwork there broke my heart. Hello Upsie Daisy! Sending you healing hugs N&Nx
🎵 Leven, on a jet train. Don’t know when I’ll be back again 🎶 An opportunity for a dad joke missed…😀 You never actually did tell us what it is that you do. 😆 The figure (Upsie Daisy) is from the kids TV programme “In the Night Garden” which like Teletubbies is one of those weird very young child’s progs that appeals to hung over students too.
AV-8A, Ace of Spades, this is VMA-231. I looked up squadron history. 1983, was my second deployment, an expeditionary deployment. VMA-231 had 6 AV-8A's on USS Tarawa, LHA-1. So, it is a 50 50 chance that particular bird was on that deployment. Small world.
