That Goldust move at 2:13:34 is awesome. He was always doing some cool shit like that randomly in matches. Followed by Shawn selling the Hell out of that clothesline lmao.
58:05 Man people used to pop so loud for a freaking HIP TOSS. Now they are asleep ubless someone is jumping off a 40 foot ladder through 12 tables on glass
Bit of a rose tinted view. Crowds were regularly dead during the bell to bell action for a LOT of the Attitude Era. They're far more receptive to matches now.
I think you're also forgetting the fact that this event was held in acountry that was just recovering from the gulf fucking war LOL they fact that wwf was in their country was momentous for those people
The people aren't cheering the hip toss... They are cheering the undertaker... They would've cheered any nice move done there cuz they were invested into him, and they supported good guys by default. Look at all the biggest names... Hogan Savage flair Austin Taker HHH Orton They don't do crazy moves..they don't have to. The crowd was behind them. Go watch Austin "stomp a mud hole' it looks terrible.. but the fans didn't couldn't see it because they were willing to suspend disbelief. It's what's missing today.
The Kuwait tag match was nuts to me especially since Taker was so protective of kayfabe back then and to see him take his entrance hat and throw it in the crowd blew my mind!! Then Bret giving out not 1 but 2 pairs of glasses. That was a great match to see.
1:11:01 I’ve heard Austin talk about this match when he said he asked for some tape bc he hadn’t brought any to Kuwait and Bret gave him pink tape to wear 😂😂
Lol, there was no youtube or social media back then, so it was a lot easier to get away with that stuff back then live events basically got no coverage it was rare if it made tv for the time ..there was alot of times you go to a live event and it wouldn't match up with what was going on on tv which was a huge letdown
Whew. Boy. You’d think they’d need somewhere to practice their potential storylines, chemistry and high spots in front of a crowd to gage the reactions, but off of tv. What a mind blowing concept right!? 🙄
I Dont understand Clearly WWF had a camera at ring level for the May 1996 KLIQ celebration We can see it at 142:14 and throughout the Warrior Owen match So how come we only EVER get the guy in the seats view when showing the Kliq celebrating??
Nah, they're not... you'd be surprised how similar we are today to people who lived in the 12th or 13th century. Humans will always be the same inherent creatures.
@@lazy_lefty Is that why everyone at these shows/concerts nowadays are looking down at their phones, not dancing, not cheering, seemingly not having a good time?
WWF has the all the greats. WWF took short cuts half the roster. See get the f out . That was ground breaking . I knew it was planned but I 😘 loved my dad's reactions. As a teen getting home from work watching WCW and WWE with my dad. Great morning of memories
We need more Owen. Just catching a glimpse of him in the intro reminds me that despite his widow appearing in a wedding dress? on AEW TV...Owen was a WWF professional wrestler. She hates the business but married Shahid Khan's money nevertheless. Owen was one of the very best and deserves recognition and admitted to the hall of fame...if not for Martha than for the true born Hart family that remains. I realize that is a pretty unpopular opinion but I am an Owen Hart fan. My heart will always go out to his wife and children and their loss but that doesn't have to make me a Martha Hart fan. And the more I see of the woman the less I am inclined to like. Martha could learn a thing or two from Vickie Guerrero.
Shes brainwashed the two children aswell. U can see in the dark side of the ring episode his son spouts the same nonsense martha does "i would never allow wwe to put my dad in the HOF" its not about that its about his legacy and his footage library. Right now wwe own it but cant use a bit of it.
LMAO why? Because she's correctly pursuing justice for her husband's wrongful death? Because she wants absolutely nothing to do with the company that is wholly responsible for that death? Because there's a company out there that wants to respect his legacy by promoting the charity that she started in her dead husbands name?
She didn’t wear a wedding dress. She doesn’t hate the business. She hates people like Vince, and negligence. She lost her husband, her kids lost their father. Because of Vince.
@@DWEEB-FIXexactly can’t fault the woman for hating the company that ended up cutting corners and because of that her husband died. I get that Bret has buried the hatchet with WWE, but we still can’t get mad at Martha for feeling how she feels cause it’s just that how SHE feels. Also talking about she needs to take a page from Vicki is crazy since both Owen & Eddie died in two entirely separate situations. One was killed due to neglect and one died of a heart attack 🤷🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️.
Yes he was that's why he's on the DVD. You're ether too young to be around for it or you're trying too hard to be a smart mark (or both). If Bret shoving down Vince after the cage match on Raw and going on a tirade isn't Attitude Era then what is? All the stuff with DX and the Nation of Domination. This is the company itself saying Bret was part of it why try and argue that? Don't work yourself into a shoot brother lol
I did not realize how much nicer it is without the side commentary. The Austin & Hart feud was epic
The sound in the first match is amazing makes you feel there with no announcers
*insert random announcer comment here*
Rest in peace to most of these guy's other are retired

LOL in 1996 Austin tap out. And in Wrestlemania 13 Ross and Lawler said Austin never gave up in a Match in his Career :D

Likely the cameras stopped rolling once the match ended and they got Shawn celebrate by himself
Not always rolling
Steve Austin in Bret's pink tape. Priceless
That Shawn Micheal’s vs Goldust match was unexpected
1:11:00 stone cold with the pink tape
Borrowed from Bret? S Africa.
People were different back then
I mentioned this to myself while watching. The energy in the crowd is relentless and just plain different.

Let it come back WWF in 2025 in new era. We need to watch ' Stone Cold' Steve Austin . We need WWF but not WWE. WWF must bring back in 2025.
Ah, the infamous "pink tape" match.
This is from the dvd
I wonder if any of those kids in the intro became wrestlers
WWE make a attitude era DVD.............. proceeds to show a undertaker, makind match from 1996 makes total sense 🤣
96 was the start of the attitude era... 🥴🥴
Thanks
So this is what they meant when they said that they worked everyday of the year.
Earl hebner was so obvious when he wasn't gunna count to three. He does a fake slip or fall to prevent any dramas. So obvious every time
Can anyone give me the reason for the red turnbuckle pads in Kuwait? Did they ever use them somewhere else?
Could you please upload WCW Nitro eps in full pleaseee
I thought Bret was away from WWF after Wrestlemania 12 until Surivor Series 96? And then April 1996 in Germany? Wrestlemania 12 was in March 31.
mick foley.. he had an average body. Thats the amazing part and Shane McMahon wanted us to know that with his pedigree ass stunt he pulled off.
Back when they had real catch phrases

if only Stone Cold used the stunner against Brett. Lol

4:02 Young Kevin Owens🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Ultimate warrior no selling still annoys me when i see it though he actually sold more for Owen than i think i ever saw for anyone else 😂
They were cousins mankind undertaker and Kane as mankind called Paul bearer Uncle Paul always fighting each 😂
Did shawn just kiss him to win the match?
Go to the time 2:14:18 and watch Sean spit in some kids face after gold dust drops him on the guard rail

For me the Attitude Era began when Raw goes Warzone. So it was 1997
'Pillman has a gun' happened in October 1996 I believe. I think that was the litmus test for 'Attitude' in WWF
1:10:50 - I think that was the house show Austin said he was ribbing HBK and wearing pink
