Beautiful. My favorite breed.
We rescued our dog. We were out and someone said she was a PBGV. She is certainly mixed with something because she is all white expect ears and face but is spotted black under her coat like a Dalmatian. She is truly the best dog!!! She is 13 and stills runs around I wish I knew how to post a picture.

I have a petit and most of this is completely accurate
If you could separate the Petites from the Grands from the same litter up until 1976, then why are they known for having different temperaments, different activity level, different thought process (ex. Bassets think then give chase, Petites jump at something without thinking)?
My PVGB is really calm and snuggly inside, but when out for a walk / hunting...its it own master :P
I got a pbgv from the pound, and i wanted to name HER William Wallace! (She wouldn't know!) Well that idea got vetoed and she spent her life as Wilma Wallace!

no, they have a wire coat that needs to be handstripped, but they don't shed much at all.

Can anyone suggest a good PBGV breeder that ships to Ca.?
ships? my mother breeds, and there are some in the states from us, but you have to visit them growing up (before they can leave the mother) (that is how we do it)
we are in belgium though, but to "ship" a dog, it is just not done, shouldn't be done, imagine being taken from your family and being shipped away, and ending up with a master you don't know?
