Who can believe it, the dark destroyer turned 60 Senior, happy birthday and many more returns, the journey of our lives ❤, it goes up and down like a seesaw, but the most important is our wellbeing, careless who thinks otherwise
Great video, I remember these fights well. Nigel Benn is one of Britain's greatest fighters. devastating puncher, great heart, good boxer and loved a tear up. Was massively popular at the time and not a bad dj either...
@@RogerYeahmon benn was great as i see it... he lost to eubank - i believe many see him as great as well. Watson was a great boxer in his own right. And benn lost twice to collins when he was very old
@@RogerYeahmon i get what your saying. He is no hagler, hearns, leonard or duran - but he was incredible to watch! I always enjoyed his fights, hearns' and matthew saad muhammad's fights. Explosions
@@eranliber5993 you were always guaranteed an explosive performance from Benn, he'd come flying out of his Corner Bombs flying with almost every Punch very exciting I hated it when he lost to Eubanks
Something devastating happened to him when he was 8yrs old he lost his older brother u don't want to mess with these guys he was a phsycho killer in the ring that's what u need to be a champion and he was ..he turned Christian in the end .no wonder brutal sport ..god bless him
The greatest middleweight boxer of the last 50 years, only Marvin Hagler, Tommy Hearns, and Sugar Ray Leonard could hold a candle to this man……God bless you Nigel…..Ilford forever…the good old days🥊🥊🥊🥊❤️❤️❤️❤️
Nigel Benn ,Terry Norris , Julian Jackson and G-Man McClellan. Four of the most Dangerous punchers of the 90's were never given the opportunity for fights with Roy Jones.
That was a good fight, the first one where Benn was really tested. Miller had the potential to go on and win that one I think if he had kept being careful, albeit he would have had to keep it up the whole fight and do enough to edge each round which is a big ask (although he was still behind on points he was looking the better of the two at that stage). As soon as he went on a prolonged offensive - which I don't blame him for, Benn had been looking rather tired and ragged and was getting caught a lot - Benn was able to take those decent combinations and hit him with a belter flush on an undefended chin. Having watched the slow motion replay of Miller's assault, Benn was defending pretty well, nothing was landing clean, and that's why he was able to unleash such a powerful, clean hook in return.
Nigel Benn was never beaten by an American fighter, however, the big 4 was about at the same time, all similar weight class, Hagler, Hearns, Duran and Sugar Ray, in my personal opinion here's what would have happened if he met those 4, Nigel without a doubt knocks out Hearns, Hagler without a doubt knocks out Nigel, Sugar Ray out points Nigel with a possible knockout too, Duran vs Benn would be a slug fest and i couldn't choose a winner.
Agreed The Hit Man had a suspect Chin but if Hearns came out the way he did v Hagler & Duran then I think Nigel's glass jaw would smash 1st, mind you it's a case of who lands the best shots 1st cos both could really Punch
Those body punches in 4,30 made me need a dump, and that was just watching them, imagine getting then slammed into you,,NO thanks Mr B,,,,that chantler fight FFS it was the very first punch, not just destroyed you but shattered your pride, ONE punch. I like the way he stopped himself throwing the automatic follow up punch, he knew there was no need
imagine a fighter like nigel benn at heavyweight that would be devasting even more than Tyson benn was the man he was aggressive, strong and all he wanted to do was destroy his opponents greatest fighter
Nigel Benn was great explosive as fuck and a big hitter but for me as a boxing fan Michael waston was the best out of nigel benn chris eubank and steve collins he was schooling eubank until that punch ended his career it was an accident chris eubank was never the same fighter after that fight with watson that's the danger that comes with boxing unfortunately Michael waston is a hero
@@c.p5757 The point deduction cost him dearly indeed...fair enough. But he never managed to stop and humiliate Eubank like Eubank stopped him in the 9th round in their first fight. And even in the second fight Benn never really convinced. Eubank always stated after the MW tragedy that he never wanted to stop another boxer inside the distance out of fear of doing the same thing again. If he'd exerted himself from the start looking for the KO I'm sure he'd have done it. Winning on points is like winning a soccer game on a penalty shotout...it's a tiebreaker!
I think motivation also played a role in that first fight. Eubank had a strong motivation to take the championship belt away from Benn. Benn was probably already a star then and did not take Eubank seriously.
The 1980's were a great time. Benn, Eubank, Watson. Sugar ray, Hearns, Duran, etc.
agreed, but put sugar ray or hagler in with benn or eubanks and they would have got stuffed, two great boxers but not in their league.

@@68majortom absolytely. Agree with every word
If you squint, it looks like you're watching Tyson, his style, power and the way he weaves
Agree, and i'd also say a bit of Joe Frazier.
Nigel Benns precision is a amazing.
The best times of my life watching Nigel and Lennox
Nige is my favourite British boxer of all time❤❤ it was exciting
Not often mentioned, but Benn's evasive weaving was superb.
Such a great boxer but also a great brawler and fearless!!!. Great viewing 👍😉
Ferocious and fearless!
Not seen this for ages, I used to have this on VHS, ashame they didn’t do another at the end of his career
Love Nigel 💖💖💖👍
Thanks for making/uploading this vid 🙏

Happy Bday Uncle Nigel!!! uncle because you left an inheritance to us nephews boxing lovers and fighters
wish i had half the power and fighting spirit these guys have...

What a great watch.
This is great thank you.
Nigel “dark destroyer” ben v. Napoleon “kid dynamite”
He abused him bra 💀
Damn you can literally see the bruise on the one guy’s body. His ninth fight dude was a killer.
My favorite ever
Got this on VHS
10:12 poor guy...
11:35 another one

the amount of times that same referee had to pull Benn off people was hilarious
Still my favourite boxer!! 😎
Legend
superstar..
I have to say Miller's a good fighter❤ nigel done him in but a good experience 4 nigel benn ❤
Like a smaller Mike Tyson
He was devastating in his early years was always a dark destroyer fan and hated eubank.
Hated Eubank? Why?
He was Nigel Benn the Dark destroyer ! A copy of no one! Who worked his Lumbar & then caught ya chin.
Awesome !
I love the 1980's!! The co commentator in his fight with Reggie Miller calling Miller a yank!!
That was a good fight, the first one where Benn was really tested. The Dark Destroyer, he hits them, and they go.
Nigel Benn was just an awesome puncher they compared him with Mike Tyson.
Was that Rodney Trotter with a curly wig on in Benn’s first fight?
Aye he’s probably the least likely looking boxer I’ve ever seen but give him credit he was game enough.
"His appearance won't strike terror in the hearts of anyone, he's tall and very frail looking" lmao! Said of Ben's first opponent on the video...
Good fight i li?!❤

What about James Toney or Roy Jones?

not sure why the guy giving away 9 pounds to Benn was allowed in the ring
imagine a fighter like nigel benn at heavyweight that would be devasting even more than Tyson benn was the man he was aggressive, strong and all he wanted to do was destroy his opponents greatest fighter
He'd be like another Tyson no way better then Tyson though.. but you can see it here benns an animal in his division
You can say that about any top class fighter, like "imagine naseem hamed as a heavyweight, even more agile than muhamed Ali" for example.
Benn would’ve been a unorthodox Tyson at hw, but if someone fought like Nigel Benn at hw they better hope they got good stamina
All he wanted to do destroy his opponents. Ha ha. Tyson wanted the same).
fuck me that andy murry moonlighting

Watson
Great heart, along with Tyson Fury, my favourite fighters of all time.
만약 나이젤 벤이 줄리안 잭슨과 대결을 했다면 과연?
The first fella who benn drops has got no chin..literally
townsie74 lmaoo
If you notice ben tried to hit his chin but flew through thin air it's why he clipped him on the temple
A moving hatrack ya know?!
LoooooooL
Basically as soon as benn had to fight decent opposition he got smashed
Gerald McClellan, 2 time middleweight world champion was a great fighter and Iran Barkley world champion at 3 different weights was no slouch.
For all his talent he was never as good as Eubank.
I thought Benn won there 2nd fight, the point deduction cost him dearly.

Both were beasts, Eubanks chin was the biggest factor when they fought not many people can take shots off Ben like Eubanks did
fighter lost to boxer
