  • This is the story of how I met my wife told from the US Mexico border. This is the closest she can come to my country while we wait for her visa to be approved. We expect the process to take roughly two years and after that we can live together full time.

    My husband and I are 1 1/2 year into this process with legal immigration. It’s so sad they can’t even visit on a tourism visa till spouse visa is approved. It should never take so long to be with immediate family (spouse, child, parent). I and my wife were repatriated from Nigeria on our first visit after years of being married in Europe. We had no visa! The Europe foregn office and nigerian Embassy website said...No problem, you guys can get visa on arrival...We actually wept at MMA as we were forced to return to Europe on the next available flight. Politics is crazy!. Some said you guys must get...Naija wife visa..., Naija husband visa....if it was a foreign man. Barriers of Tit for tat of countries relationships with one another, taking no actual coignisance of their' travelling citizens'interest or consideration. Nice to hear from your wife today. I think you should let her feature more as you guys may like in the future. You kinda like got the code with this episode.and something greater is coming. Cheers!

      As a Nigerian, the easiest way to enter México is with any one of Canada/US/Schengen visas. If I don’t have a Canada visa, it means I have to apply for Mexico visa which does not come easy. I prefer to just get one of the mentioned visas above, use it to enter the original country and come to Mexico from there.

      It's a good law! It keeps out the riff-raff that just want to come here to get citizenship. We can't take the whole world in! They should keep that 2-year law to make sure they are really a couple and not just scamming to get in the country!!!

    Hello, did your wife apply for the mexican visa from Canada or she had to return to Nigeria to get a Mexican visa?

    • @AuthenticTraveling
      @AuthenticTraveling  Месяц назад +1

      She applied for the Canada visa while in Nigeria before we even got married but got it after we were married. It can be done online but you need to do biometrics in person at a Canadian embassy. Not sure if you need to be in Nigeria or can do abroad but you will need to physically go for the visa sticker at the end.

    • @reneeleon6953

      Generally speaking, if married, to meet each other using the tourist visa path outside Canada, you apply for a tourist visa from inside the country where either of you are a citizen. Either of you can apply for the other. You apply directly through the consulate of your destination country from your home country. Also, a Spouse can act as the "Representative" on behalf of a spouse in the Canadian Tourist Visa IRCC application system.

      @AuthenticTraveling Why did she not apply for and get a tourist's visa to the United States BEFORE both of you got married? That way, she would be in the US while she applies for a green card or other residency permit.

      @IkesLionsDen A US tourist visa is easiest if you already have various schengen visas and possibly a schengen state passport as the lady in the video does. But if you are already married, then you must go the route of a married couple's visa instead of a simple tourist visa.

      They will deny the visitor visa on the assumption that you plan to stay there with your spouse and not return thus circumventing the process. No amount of evidence will change their mind on that unfortunately.

They just assume you are going to break the law, I'm sorry you guys can't even spend time together in your own home, hopefully you'll be together soon, maybe she'll have to lie next time lol, I have no idea what the process is, like when they ask why you're visiting at the airport, how do they know your wife is married to you (American,) they just know? Same here. I'm American. My wife is Brazilian and has no visa after over two years of marriage. But we no longer care. We are living steps from the beach in very beautiful and safe Santos Brazil and loving the lower cost of living, very favorable currency exchange rate, and free health care system here in Brazil. As an American, we are programed to believe that the US is the "greatest country in the world". That's totally bull. Once you experience living abroad you discover that the US is kind of a shit hole.
