    Love your work (I'm on an old Naish Pivot - love it!!) --- You and Kevin really support kids getting into kiting. Could you think about making a super cheap kite suitable for kids? Get them into the sport and hooked on reedin kites? It would be awesome :)

      Thanks for your kind words! We're always stoked to hear new ideas and we'll definitely keep this one in mind :)

    I wonder does this kite have a fixed bridle?

    • @ReedinKites
      @ReedinKites  Месяц назад +1

      Hi Jochum good question! We didn't address every feature for this one but focussed more on what's new. We are using a 'hybrid pulley system' which means generally the pulleys are against a stopper ball, giving a fixed-bridle feel, but when sheeting out the last +/- 20% of the bar throw, the pulley is able to move in order to give you just a little more depower. Hope that explains it well enough for you!

      @@ReedinKites I have always been a fan of Reading Kite Production Gear and especially their kites. I appreciated the detailed response. I have a question: was this method of bridle setup already used in version 2 of the Reading, or is it new?

    • @ReedinKites
      @ReedinKites  Месяц назад +1

      @@Jochumvideos Thanks!! We've been using this concept in version 2, 3 and 4 as well yes. So for this year we increased the amount of attachment points to the kite, and retuned the bridles, but the hybrid pulley concept has remained. You can find an explanation in the SM3 designer talk at 3:30. ruclips.net/video/uKmFH03nHJo/видео.html

    I changed to a brand that does not bring new version every year. Really bored of this. Do you change your car and bicycle also every year? The kite for this Olympics was approved 2020 so it has to last 4 years.

      Hi Andreas, the great thing is, you can decide for yourself if you want to upgrade every year or not! We are driven by our passion to keep developing, innovating, and making the best possible product out there, and we're not planning on slowing down :) We believe that if we can make a kite that is so much better, why wouldn't we put it in the hands of our customers? If someone is in the market for a kite right now, we want them to have the most advanced option available - and not hold back on innovation. That doesn't make the outgoing model or the ones before that any less good. Your current model will keep flying as awesome as ever. Whenever you get bored again, come and try the latest SUPERMODEL, you're always welcome to come back ;)

      I bought my car 5 years ago and still happy with even if the brand sent 5 other models every year. I got the first SuperModel and still happy with, still stiff and going in lighter wind than other kites brands…. @Reedin keep going with your passion .

    • @andreaspoke8273

      @@alexandrelodygensky5527 that is my dream, that a kite last 5 years. But I kite under tropical sun so a kite last only 1,5 years. The Reedin kites look not so different every version so your kite not looks old. Not like a older Duotone. I liked the 1 kite fits all concept too but they have that pump adapter I don’t like. I do downwinders and borrow pump many times.
      I think the lifecycle of a car model is 5 years. They not bring a new VW Golf every year.

      Disagree as long as they keep improving they should release new gear, asap. You can always skip a version.

      It's like a race for iphone. Every model is a bit better than the previous, but nothing changes significantly. It's a marketing war. If you want to brake through the market make the kite cheaper. Lighter materials and fabrics = less strength and short life of the kite itself. Overall the second hand market shows that it is better to buy a podium brand and sell it more expensive after one year.

    Equal to Naish Pivot (recently compared HTF 2024 to Pivot 2024, only minor differences in bar pressuru and (low) wind performance, liked the Pivot better myself

    Super model must have torsion for performance
    Hyper model must be super stiff hahah
    Doesn’t add up
    Much BS

    • @ReedinKites
      @ReedinKites  Месяц назад

      Hi Pschipper! The term 'stiff' is very much a simplified term used to try and make things easier to understand, but I get your confusion. Sometimes when we say stiff, we're referring to how the arc shape of the kite stays intact under heavy load, and sometimes it refers to torsional stiffness. In the case of ALUULA it often refers to the fast rebound of the material, and the way it stretches much less under pressure. The overall stiffness of a kite structure is about more than just material, it's also about the seams being used and positioning of those. We try to find the right balance in these videos by explaining how things work without going too deep into the technical aspects of certain things. However if you don't understand something, you can just ask for more details ;)
      Have a great day!
