Just got my son a couple of SM kites (8m & 11m) along with an X2 bar. I didn't even realize you could change up the lines like this, so I'm really glad I watched the video. Thanks!
Nice talk about line length, I'll have to try it out. The change in length has to be done on a non windy day otherwise things might mess up 🙂. As another viewer writes, it would be interesting if you take up a discussion about material choices in your kites, boards and bar.
Nice lesson. Very informal👍👍
You guys rock!!! Keep rocking !! If you come to Atlantic French coast in SNZ let’s organize a session !!
Nice project!
Can you talk about new lighter materials and if they will find their way to the Supermodel v4?
I just purchased a DreamstickX and it looks awesome. Didn’t even know you could fold the lines out of the box. Cool feature. Question for you though, why didn’t you put the little white line on the bar from the factory? Is this just to save cost? Wondering if I can just put this on the bar right away so I don’t lose the white line. Looking forward to trying this bar out along with my new HTF 12m.
Thanks guys good talk, I lot of questions got answered here. time to make a 18+4+2 m DSX variant?
Have you guys seen that dude at Cape Town who went out and did a mad loop on like 2 or 3 meter lines😂 I actually thought it was Kevin at first cuz it was a Reedin V3 with the O’Neill logo
We certainly saw him yes!😊
Do you have a link?
@@damkitu I see what you did now😂😂🤙
I was wondering, how does it impact bridle positions on the kite as angles are changing with line length.
Short lines eliminate the hesitation caused by line drag.
Think of line length like the gears in your car.
Riding only long lines is like always being in 5th gear.
I teach beginners on 5 m lines because there are no consequences from mistakes. You can't get lofted, dragged downwind and can't tomahawk your kite.
In 50 knots it's easier and safer to ride short lines too.
Lou Wainman was riding 8m lines over 20 years ago.
I usually travel with 3 bars - 7m, 15m and 22m
Great bar. But my neoprene trim holder fell apart in half a season and I can’t find anyone online who carries replacements. Help!
Hi Hahn, send us a message through the livechat on our website. Our Support team will be happy to find a solution for you!
Killer bar. Just need to fix that neoprene trim keeper?
Thanks! What is happening to your trim cover? If you send us a message on the website chat, we can check if there's anything we can do!
@@ReedinKites it doesn't stay put. Besides that it's perfection. I'm working on adding some ceramic magnets. Just need to find the right bonding agent
Try a 4m kite with 30m lines !
Could you talk about how to do double loops?
Double loops can definitely be an interesting topic!
Now my pet duck chase me up tree!!
Aluula, gimmick or the future?
I don`t believe that you can loosen up the knots in the line when you have been kiting for 20 or 30 times in 10 minutes. The knots will be so tight that it is almost impossible to get them loose with only your fingers and no tools on the beach. It is a nice bar thoug and i like it a lot ......
If you grab very close to either side of the knots and push together while wiggling them it seems to always work for me. Takes a bit of technique, bit hard to explain
@@lukenx777 I know what you mean and i tried it like that but almost always a pain in the a.....
Hi Hans, we regularly convert bars that have been used quite a lot - always washing them with fresh water after a session definitely helps! Having small loops keeps extra drag in the air to an absolute minimum, which is worth a little extra squeeze in our opinion :) Happy to hear you like the bar!
@@ReedinKites i must say that i don't put my bar in fresh water after every session so maybe that is the trick. i love the swivel on the bar..... When i kite with my old bar then i really miss it...... Never though i would...
Annoying discussion, interrupting each other and repeating the same thing over and over.
Disappointed, I expected better
You don’t have to watch it. Why didn’t you click away or went for a kite session? Probably your time better spent 😂
