    How lucky you are to be rigging basically the same boat that you guys are getting.This will make rigging your new boat so much easier.Getting to go on a shakedown cruise also,gives you a chance to see how she handles.The two of you are truly blessed! I am excited to see the new boat and looking forward to new adventures. Thanks for sharing!

    Last April we sailed the Whitsundays on a Seawind 1160. There were 4 of us and we were very comfortable. You'll love it. There's heaps of room on the 1160 especially for you both and Jetty of course. Gorgeous girl.

    Sierra and Billy, as a small RUclips channel creator (compared to yours)
    myself, I appreciate the time you spend creating and editing very entertaining
    content! I'm coming late to the game on your channel and always looking
    forward to the next and watching those I haven't seen yet!
    Thanks for all the great content and the time it takes to produce!

    I’m not a sailor, and have never had any interest in a sail boat, but love following your adventures. After seeing this Seawind, I’m really excited for you to get your boat and start the whole video series of the new boat and more adventures. 👍🏻👍🏻

    You're a good man. This is why you get invited to do cool stuff. How great is it that you get to rig a boat similar to the one you have coming, and then invited to sail it. My dad used to always say that when there's a job to be done do it now now now! That's how you become valuable to others.

    Hi Billy & Sierra.
    My wife and I were in Annapolis at the boat show, the same time as you, Nick & Terysa. In fact we met them both by pure coincidence when we were on board the same Seawind 1260 and had a really good chat. We subscribe to both channels and are Patreon’s of theirs.
    We obviously didn’t know then, that they/you/ and us had all ordered our cats around the same time!

    • @paulcorrigan8227
      @paulcorrigan8227 3 года назад

      Our 1260 was completed in March, but was then shrink wrapped and put in storage in Vietnam as we couldn’t get in (and still can’t 🙁).
      We found your video on commissioning incredibly interesting. We were offered the chance to ship ours to Miami. I think it might actually have been on the same cargo ship as the one you helped commission. As first time owners of a boat, we had to refuse the offer simply due to timing.
      We thought it would be impossible for us to get insurance at this time due to it being hurricane season.
      We’ve just checked with Seawind, but they don’t currently have plans to charter a cargo ship again to Miami. This would mean a standard shipping charge of around $90K-$100K.
      As you mentioned getting your 1160 shipped to Miami, are you aware of any reliable companies delivering Seawinds there that are much cheaper?

    Hey I am just watching the latest Sailing Cadoha video on RUclips, and I saw something that you would probably might be interested in.. in today's episode Sailing England's Jurassic Coast, he goes eboarding. It's hydroplaning exactly as you were doing with the kite, the only difference is there's no kite. You just stand on it and go. Just thought it might be something you might enjoy trying. I love you guys videos, and is caregiver for my 93 year old mother with dementia I don't get out much. So I really appreciate coming along on your adventures. Keep up the good work

    Now you are trained-up for commissioning your own boat! We commissioned our 1160 Lite in that same yard in Feb 2019. At that time, it was empty. It's a tight motor to get back in there. Plus the tide went out during the day, and left us sitting on boat. Albeit drawing less than 4 feet!

    I might suggest on your boat that you use corrosion inhibiter on the joints of the mast, the roller furling, and all threaded bits. Most likely you'd be real glad you did at some point in the future.
    Your enthusiasm is infectious! We love following along on your journeys.

    Hey Bill or Sierra or even Jetty, The seawind looks really nice. The blue on teal lobster boat you were working next to on the hard looked beautiful as well. At 5:21, Scott mentioned that, "we taped 'em," (the wires), "about every foot and a half..." I would think that as time goes on one or maybe two wires will eventually go bad. Seeing as they are taped together, you'll just have to abandon that wire in the tube. What do you think about putting a running hitch around the wires? That way you can pull from the top and all of the wires stay together. And if you want, you can pull the bitter end of the running hitch at the bottom of the mast to remove it, thus allowing you to remove old or non-usable wires in the mast. The old/non-useable wires can also act as your messenger when you need to replace it. When it's taped, you can't even use it as a messenger. Just a thought...

  • @RiverWoods111
    @RiverWoods111 3 года назад

    Oh my! That must have been exciting and then at the same time frustrating as your boat is still some time off in the future! I know your friends on Ruby Rose are just as excited and have sailing on Seawind's for experience for their new boat too. I am very excited about your new boat. By the way as far as selling your old boat, make sure all interested parties are getting their certificates through ASA, as it will help them get their insurance for the boat. Often times classes and certifications will count as experience years. It might make it easier, even if it takes a little longer for them to close it might help you get it sold with it's age!

    There’s no greywater issues on the GBR, just Blackwater in certain zones! Interesting to see how it all goes together, as a marine repairer, I’d be putting protection on a lot of those parts, and especially the threads. I saw the loctite and that’s fine but.......!? There’s quite a few 1260’s as bareboat characters in the Whitsundays (GBR) Australia, or there was prior to CoVid19! I’ve no doubt you guys are very keen to get your own new cat! Thanks for sharing. 😎🏖🌴☀️🇦🇺

    Dunno if this question came up but... I'm don't know much about sailboats but if the electrical lines were taped every foot when they were pulled through the conduit inside the mast, if one of those lines needs to be replaced, wouldn't you need to disconnect and pull the entire taped bundle?
