My favorite thing about Ann is that she's visibly exhausted and socially awkward most of the time and the two most important people in her life are inhumanly energetic extroverts
I think it's because both Chris and Leslie are aware that Ann is socially awkward and they don't try to force her to do extroverted things that she doesn't want to do. They respect her and her boundaries and they adjust their plans to include her in activities she feels comfortable with. They don't have an issue slowing things down if it means Ann gets more enjoyment. It's really sweet. Plus with how energetic the two are they probably are used to slowing down for other people (except for maybe Andy).
I didn't like Chris at first, but after just a few episodes I realized he was a genuinely nice person. He's my favorite and radiates cheerfulness in every scene
Chris was the character that really brought out Ann's awkwardness and developed her character. Before, no one really challenged her in any way and then Chris came along. I love their dynamic and it made Ann a really funny character and all her quirks really began to shine in the show.
Drunk Ann kisses Chris. He's just like 'Oh, I like this. But NOPE, she's drunk, so off to the cab.' It's a low bar to clear, sure, but it's a subtle moment to clarify his character and intentions.
my favourite part of that interaction is the little "hmph" sound he makes right after the kiss as he's holding her face. it's such a boyfriend sound to make and it was literally their first meeting which is just *chef's kiss*
I love how Chris didn’t take advantage of Ann even when she technically initiated the kiss because of her being drunk he’s such a gentlemen I wish there were more men like chris
Not salty or anything but I also wish more women knew how to control themselves better when drunk or even control their drinking in the first place so this situation wouldn't need to happen
It takes a lot of courage to step up and ask. Chris respected that and made it so that they don’t feel discouraged to try again. I’m straight but I wouldn’t mind being rejected by Chris lol
Chris & Ann were so smitten with each other because they were both surprised at how happy they made each other. Ann felt like she could be unapologetically herself around Chris, and Chris felt like he could tell Ann anything. They have unconditional support for each other and I love it.
The way she mirrored Chris almost from the beginning I dont know if she was trying but it was very flirtatious. And Chris noticed. You really have to give a shout out to the writers the dialogue is pitch perfect
He was actually donating blood because he’s super healthy and his blood type is just “positive”, they also said that you can see his blood cells with the naked eye and that they look like fruit loops 😂
I don't think he'd make it through it, he has a history of mental health issues and is a huge people person, and not being around people for long periods of time will definitely tear him down.
“STAHP……pooping…..” That gets such a guttural laugh from me every single time 😂🤣😂 Also, the relationships in this show were written so masterfully (except Ann and Mark.) This show is top tier!
Chris's journey over the course of the show is one of my favorite things to look back on. He goes on one hell of a wild ride, always with that smile on his face. Anne goes through some stuff too, of course. But Chris's journey kicks it up to 11 a few more times.
I love positive Chris. I love how he so positively broke up with Ann she didn’t realize what was happening. She needed Ben on the sidelines to lean in at the end, rip the bandaid, and explain what just happened. 😂
@@mastshke for context, he complained that women should stop doing stuff they might regret when they're drunk (such as initiate a kiss, like Ann does here). Thing is, drunk people do dumb drunk things, men and women. And yeah, it'd be best not to do them, but if they do them with a sober person, the sober person HAS TO be the better person and realize they can't let it continue 🙄
Unpopular opinion : Ann and Chris' relationship is basically Ben and Leslie's relationship with genders swapped A low-key socially awkward one with a saner mind, and an over-energetic positive one
I think they address that in the show when Ben and Ann are talking at her going away party. Ben gives advice on dealing with Chris and Ann gives advice on dealing with Leslie. They acknowledge how similar their loves are.
“I was born with a blood disorder and my parents were told I had three weeks to live. And here I still am. Some 2,000 odd weeks later, and I have enjoyed every one of them.” I was confused and irritated by Chris in the beginning but this one conversation changed all that. Living life to the fullest and being eternally grateful for it. RESPECT ✊
All the couples in this series have such a healthy relationship… Lucy and Tom, Chris and Ann, Leslie and Ben, Andy and April, Donna and Joe, Ron and Dianne, Jerry and his wife and family…. It just gives such a feel good vibe
It’s her femininity that draws you to her. She can be pretty/hot, but the guy that can go over to her and work out how he will talk to her instead of trying to hook up at the end of the night is a real keeper.
Ann: My body is a chip too! A potato chip! No. Chris: *laughs as if what she just said wasn’t the most awkward thing ever.* Ann and Chris are perfect together
9:33 I’m now convinced that Ann Perkins is Karen Filippelli who’s changed moved to a new town, changed her name and her profession every time she gets dumped.
arguably one of the best relationships in the entire series!💕 also cute full circle moment: 5:13 he mentions Snirling, which is where Grain n Simple - the organic food grocery store is located, later in the series..when Chris & Ron do a burger off!
