Is nobody gonna talk about how Leslie clearly commissioned Jerry to do the Black Eyed Peas picture for April?? One of my favorite little details of that episode.
i just realized that leslie really like giving gifts for friends considering shes an only child. she treats her friends like her siblings that she needs to shower with love
@Rabbi Spidermann as an only child I think because we never had a sibling, we think that we would shower them with love even when we might not in real life.
That’s the funny bit, how something anyone would like after hearing about it, once experienced to an extreme degree, then loses all desirability. What may on the surface looks so alluring can actually be a huge burden when taken wayyyy too far. I love how this contradiction is played out, so much humor and angst in it.
I really love Ben and Ann's friendship- they had such few stories together, but I always enjoyed the ones they did. They are the two people Leslie loves most in the world, it just makes sense that they would be good friends.
Lol I had a similar reaction when I was at a family gathering and my uncle brought at a lightsaber he got made at Disney and it looked like Luke's lightsaber and I absolutely lost it out of excitement.
I love that even Ron hated the idea of Leslie making him a surprise party, he cares and loves her so much that he was willing to go with it. And of course, I cry everytime
Leslie clearly don't understand "You can get it" and "It's baller time", yet she made their presents better with those phrases. Such a great friend to have
My favorite thing about this compilation is it brings to light the duel between Ron and Leslie. Ron, the immovable object, doing everything he can to give out as little personal information as possible, vs Leslie, the unstoppable force, doing everything she can to know everyone even remotely close to her on a deep, personal, and meaningful level. With all the insanely perfect gifts she somehow manages to get for everyone (even with being a workaholic and having so many "holidays" to celebrate and keep track of), it really accentuates just how immensely impressive it is that Ron managed to keep her searching for three years, and all the more hilarious that his downfall was giving out his real birthdate to Baskin Robbins. but, to be fair, Baskin Robbins always finds out.
He knows Leslie. He enjoys the quiet and peace, and she throws parties that are loud, messy, and chaotic. I honestly would not blame the man. He wasn't cringing, he was readying himself for the oncoming noise.
"I can't believe I finally defeated Leslie Knope at a gift exchange!!!" "Yeaaaaah............. about that......." I hope to be a Leslie Knope level gifter someday
The way she cares and notices everything every one of her friends like just to make special things for them is just the most triggering thing for my mommy issues
Donna's bedazzled "you can get it" and Ben getting frustrated with Leslie by crossing references made me laugh so hard I was wheezing for longer than I care to admit
"The Mystery of the Woman We Saw in Food and Stuff Who Looked Like Isla Fisher" @ 7:20. The shot isn't long enough that someone HAD to come up with those types of hilariously specific scrapbook themes, but they did anyway and it only makes me love this show even more.
Leslie realizes the tea is not tea, and tosses it in the trash. It was quick, but the look shared by April and Andy was subtle, yet obvious what they were communicating. April's look: Andy did you see that? OMG, what a waste!! Andy's look: Shh, don't say anything. It's ours now! We'll retrieve it later. Comedy gold.
Leslie negotiations her holidays hoping for a month with Ben and Ann and sounding upset that she only gets a week to celebrate them is so pure. And then adding in an additional week for both of them just is so pure too
I wish Leslie Knope was my friend, not for the presents, for the amount she cares about and really knows her friends! ❤💯 (Also I know this is fiction obviously, but its still just a nice thought 😄👌)

I know they talk about the final season in the show but my theory is Ben so upset with how the show is going in the final seasons and Leslie finally starts getting into the show starts making fan edits of the episodes in his free time to try to improve the series.
I like that Andy was included in that painting of April killing the Black Eyed Peas, shows that a) Andy will support her morally ambiguous plans and b) April trusts Andy enough to include him in her morally ambiguous plans
