- Takomo's Tim Urban is on a quest to break 80 at TPC Sawgrass. The problem? He's a five handicapper prone to a slice and the occasional snowman. Tim is joined by Joonas, another member of Team Takomo. Joonas is a 16 handicapper attempting to break 90 at Sawgrass.
In this new video series, we hook Tim and Joonas up with some of the worlds best golf coaches and RUclips golf legends as the prepare to take on this demanding feat. Will the lads make it or will they get broken. They have six months to get their acts together before taking on Sawgrass. Welcome to Breaking Tim & Joonas (the best title for a video series we've ever come up with).
In this episode, Joonas joins the fight and flies to Dallas where he and Tim get a quick lesson from our PGA-pro friend Brendan. The fellas then set out for a cheeky 18 so you can see the state of their games.

Chipping from Bermuda is difficult for sure. Try toe down or opening the face a little to use the bounce more.
Love this idea for a series! I’m sure there’s going to be the “no way is tim a 5 handicap” comments. I think somehow people still don’t get that tour pros shoot 64 then 76 but when a 5 handicap shoots 78 then 90 it’s somehow different. Either way i’m pumped for this series!

Tim you are correct in not knowing what shot you want to play. But I also think you are also very short in confidence especially with your putting

Ok Jonas focus on turning around your spine….your back swing you tilt \ and then tilt / on the down swing.
Honestly guys this course is wide open. I've played Sawgrass you shoot like that on Sawgrass your talking 120 to 150. But it was fun watching honest play.

I live about an hour from TPC Sawgrass. Is there a way to get on this course without breaking my bank? FYI, my 101Ts are really nice! I'm getting used to them. Probably need lighter shafts as they came with the 125 gram shafts.
Unfortunately no maybe if you stay at the Hilton there. Currently $650 a round yikes.

@@dennisyamasaki6830 I only got to play it twice because I was a shot link operator at the Players for 5 years and got a free round. Play it twice it is way above anything I have played in the states.

meh copying the content format directly from a competitor is a bit weird.
First of all, Tim, you’re not about a five you either are or you’re not that’s like one of the worst things you could hear from somebody. I’m about this or I’m about that. Do you have an establish handicap? What is it?
The reason I said about a 5 is because my handicap has bounced between a 4 and a 6 over the last six months depending on where I’m playing 🤷🏼♂️
