I vastly, vastly underestimated how many episodes Superintendent Chalmers was in, going into this project. He's ending up getting the longest Simpsons Histories vid (so far) because he played a key role in so many random Simpsons episodes. Ended up leaving a bunch of stuff on the cutting room floor to keep this thing from going 35-40 minutes long 🤣
(Also this ends our run of Simpsons Histories vids. Probably an Extra Seconds next.)
release the director’s cut!
please fix the closed captions, they are incorrect in various places
5:51 5:53
will the extra seconds video be a season 34 episode?

It's never left my head that Bill Oakley once said that Chalmers is a foil to Frank Grimes of all people, in that he refuses to look too hard at anything and merely goes along with all the idiocy he encounters.
If Chalmers knew he was in a wacky tv show, Frank Grimes being the opposite would make sense because his frustration would be more warranted.
Damn, that really makes me wish that Frank Grimes and Super-Nintendo Chalmers shared a scene where Grimes points out how Chalmers ignores the ridiculousness around him, and Chalmers just agrees with Grimes before walking away, like that would be an amazing interaction and of course Grimes' reaction to another character *actually* seeing what he sees and simply not caring would be hilarious
To me it feels like he's just so done with things that he stopped caring and accepted it as normal.
If I remember right, they said that Chalmers is the only person who can survive outside of Springfield.
If anything, he's so different from Frank Grimes in that Chalmers embraces the absurdity of Springfield while Frank let it drive him insane that it ended him.
I think that Chalmers doesn’t hate religion per se but holds separation of church and state very sacred. He only objects to it when it is present within a school
and with the history of the whole debate about religion in US schools, it does track that a Jewish person would be on the side against religion in school and bristles at an attempt by a fundamentalist Christian to insert religion into school. Because overt religiosity in school tends to have turned jewish kids into outcasts in a christian majority.
That makes perfect sense
Came here to say this. Chalmers likely has no problem with religion or prayer, but it's his job to uphold the separation of church and state. Teachers in a public school can't lead a prayer.
This is true, but his follow up line about facts having no place in organized religion made me think he was an atheist for quite some time
@@TheRealJims Also possible that Rosemarie was Jewish, and Chalmers was at the Bot Mitzvah just to be supportive of Shauna.
Well Jim's, I hope you're ready for an unforgettable luncheon
Mmm yes
Oh ye gods my roast is ruined
But what if, I were to purchase fast food and disguise it as my own cooking?
Delightfully devilish Jims
Ah?
You call him Super Nintendo Chalmers, despite the fact Ralph is obviously learnding.
Yes!
-May You correct yourself?
-No
That's one of my absolute favourite lines from the show 😂
One thing I always thought was weird about the "steamed hams" scene is how he constantly yells "Seymour!" Instead of "Skinner!" It may be because they're off duty, but still it feels weird, I believe it's the only time this happens in the whole show, and Skinner still calls him "Superintendent Chalmers".
“Off duty” like they’re cops lol. Just say not at work
@@goldenfiberwheat238 Naw. They off duty. Treating teachers like they on some cop show sounds like a hilarious setup for funny.
@@goldenfiberwheat238off duty is objectively funnier
It just underlines the old fashioned nature of Chalmers. Using surnames at work and first names during social activity dates back at least as far as the 1950s; Chalmers still observes that etiquette.
"Seymour" is his mother's catchphrase
I guess he picked that up after dating Agnes
among other things
"Did you just call me a liar" is one of the greatest underrated Simpsons jokes. It's so aggressively pointless, and how defensive Skinner gets is legitimately super funny.
Oh. Oh that's much worse.
No I said you were fired.
Please do a Simpsons Histories on Maggie!
I feel like "The Forgotten Simpson" remains somewhat of an enigma on the show, and she's well overdue a deep-dive into her unusual role and legacy. She will often be completely forgotten about for long stretches, then randomly pop up for a B-story or an iconic spotlight moment before receding again.
Weaving a non-verbal character into a show that relies so heavily on sharp dialogue must surely be tricky. But the actual possibilities for non-verbal comedy are boundless, and it's always interesting to see how the writers find ways to have her interact with the rest of the cast, and it actually makes me sad sometimes as to how much she is ignored. Every time they throw in a "secret genius" gag or a sardonic facial reaction shot of her my heart cheers.
Yes!
I absolutely agree. Maggie is also my favorite character to see in flash forward episodes for this same reason. I love seeing how the hints we get about her personality are expanded upon when we get to see her grow into her own person
@@jessaminemanchester I like to think her singing career is a cover for her side hustle as an international hitman. Y'know before the going onto to becoming some kind of immortal star diety.
This could be interesting. Although I hate the "secret genius" and "expert marksman" traits they've given her. She's much funnier as just a random normal baby.
Agree.
love how these videos always start off as chroniciling their early appearances and ends with talking about their fucked up sex lives
It’s so interesting how things go in a show this long. Skinner is exclusively a side character for Bart but as Skinner slowly became a more important character we have to give him a character to go against. And then once that character becomes more important he gets his own daughter to get a full story. It’s like if we got episodes based around Nelson’s dad’s best friend or if Maya starts getting episodes with her mom
It also really says how the show evolved. Chalmers did actually pretty much appear right when the show was fully transitioning into a wacky ensemble show more about the whole of Springfield than a quaint sitcom exclusively about the Simpson family.
Who is maya
@@goldenfiberwheat238 Moe’s Fiancée
@@MicoDossun oh right the midget
@@MicoDossun I just realized that Moe and Maya haven't actually had a wedding episode yet. I'm looking forward to that now!
The "D.A.N.K." joke is making fun of "D.A.R.E." which claimed to be education to keep kids away from drugs, but in the classrooms they were straight up teaching children how to identify different drugs and where to buy them. It's kind of a dark joke and maybe a little out of character, but the Simpsons have always had some pretty dark jokes hidden by surface level hilarity.
Who can not forget the D.A.R.E. Report?
Chalmers has possibly my favorite line in the whole series in Skinner’s Baddass Song when he tells skinner he’s tired of “class after class of ugly, ugly children” it’s just so funny to me that he’s so personally offended by the looks of the kids
He literally cares about things at face value, given almost any explanation he just moves on because he's only got to make the effort to look like he cares.
@@WhiteThumbs exactly like, he’s so well fleshed out that you can immediately understand he thinks an unattractive child at the school would make the entire administration look worse than low test scores would
"It's just a damn popularity contest with you kids" is one of my favourite underrated lines - just superbly executed
Finally, Super Nintendo Chamlers is one of he best characters in the Simpsons.
Thank you for making these videos Mr. RealJims!
I’d like to throw my hat in the ring for Comic Book Guy, would be interesting to see how much there is to him outside of the pop culture parodies and nerd culture stuff, and he’s had a surprising amount of relationships and character spotlights at this point
+1 to this. I think he as a character ended up being treated a lot more sympathetically later on as nerd culture ended up becoming less niche and more mainstream. Especially after the weird era where he was dating Agnes.
@@ParaSpikyHyperGoomba And him getting married to Kumiko was a major turning point for his character.
@@ParaSpikyHyperGoomba i dont think he was ever treated unsympathetically as a general stand in for "nerd culture" but instead generally mocked as the asshole he often is or about how out of touch he is
He actually became somewhat of a character with an interesting moral compass because of that episode where his indie comic got a movie, we see him give up the chance to direct his very own comic book movie so he could maintain his artistic integrity and save others from seeing what Hollywood (and Homer to an extent) did to his comic
@@mrcritical6751 Which episode was that from?

Skinner's gonna need his medication, the superintendent's gonna need his medication,
When he hears Skinner's gonna need his medication there'll be medication in the superintendent tonight!
Seeing how he is a character that has pretty much always been there but never got any attention to the point of not having an established name, I want to see a history for Blue-Haired Lawyer.
My headcanon is that his name is Norbert Woodcock.
Cletus and the whole Spuckler clan have gotten a surprising amount of spotlight episodes these last few seasons. Recently we've seen Cletus make a fortune as both a helium salesman and country singer.
I particularly liked the recent one where Brandine reveals she's secretly educated herself and developed a taste for culture, for alienates Cletus as he feels they no longer can relate to each other. It gave her some surprising depth, and I liked how the main thing she missed was her kids, not just Cletus. Like, good on the writers for remembering that a character who is a parent would probably have other priorities than just their romantic life. And the ending was very sweet.
Cletus is one of those characters who seems gimmicky but actually has a lot of depth.
I like the way he makes his mark in perfect cursive
@@faekz And how he can predict the future.

@@ethansloan Exactly.
Ralph: Hi Principal Skinner. Hi Super Nintendo Chalmers
probably my favourite line
I really like him as a character since he has just the amount right of use and shines so well in his part. I really liked the episode where he educates Bart and the Bully's and actually teaching the boys helping them learn things. He is the straight man tied to Skinner but it works so well. The only negative is that he did not make way for Willie
also id like to see a history on groundskeeper willie i think he would be really fun to cover
I appreciate that Ralph actually remembered Chalmers' name.
I just wrote that above, so will give you an acknowledgement for being here first.
He *SAID* “make way for Willie!”

@@theredstheredstheredstheredsmarge be not proud
So happy to see Chalmers got his spotlight! Really caught me off-guard when you mentioned he and Skinner are basically mirror images of eachother, it really adds that extra wrinkle to their relationship.
I think Disco Stu would be fun, he's such a bizarre character compared to other regulars. Most characters fill some type of role outside of jokes (Mel is Krusty's sidekick / delivers exposition, Uter counts as world building for Springfield Elementary so it's not just a bunch of randos at school). But Stu is literally just a gag, he has no uses for stories aside from disco jokes and yet he still managed to become a regular, it's kinda magical honestly.
He's just like Kool-Aid Man from Family Guy in that regard.
"mmhhmmm, and you say this is a history of Superintendent Chalmers despite the fact it requires some history of Skinner as well"
Ying and Yang
I always saw Superintendent Chalmers as the more "stereotypical" boss character to use for gags related to dealing with your boss compared to Mr. Burns. Mr. Burns isn't just Homer's boss, he's a evil billionaire corporate executive, and there are plenty of jokes you can make with that alone, to the point where being Homer's boss almost feels like an afterthought sometimes. Chalmers feels more down-to-Earth in comparison, though admittedly, I had a hard time gauging his personality outside of his relationship with Principle Skinner until I saw this video. This is why I love your Simpsons Histories videos, Mr. Jims!
21:05 That scene from The Debarted where Chalmers worries about Skinner is definitely my favorite variation on the "SKINNNERRRR" catchphrase. The sudden earnest concern in his voice is just so funny since you expect that he only ever screams that in anger.
Oh I've been looking forward to this one. He's like the perfect Simpsons Histories characters, he's in a ton of episodes but never draws enough focus to notice how he's changed over the years.
I nominate Lindsey Naegle, and once again remind Jims to amend the absolute slander in his seasonal retrospective that Season 8 introduced no significant supporting cast members.
Agree
Lindsay Naegle is kind of a strange character because she's in tons of episodes, but we still barely know anything about her.
I think I've been asking since the first history video
i second this
@@SoGoodWeNamedIt What's even the deal with Lindsay Naegle?
His befriending of Homer was brilliantly integrated. Liking him for craft beer was a good way to build a friendship
I’m surprised it wasn’t done earlier.
@@rayvenkman2087 100% agreed.
Please do a histories episode for Jasper Beardley, he cracks me up in every appearance! I think that we need more older people on these episodes. I would love to see a video on anyone from the Retirement Castle or even a video on the history of the Retirement Castle itself! I want to know what are the hidden secrets of the old people home!
I think that Jasper, Old Jewish Man, and even Mrs. Glick could all be covered in the same video, because they all fall into the same category of generic "old people."
You know a secret? Most of the people there don't have the world largest cubic zirconia on their coffee table.
This is gonna be a good one. I've always had a weird inkling to learn more about this guy. Maybe it was because of the whole 'Aurora Borealis' incident.
I know I'm so boring in my pick for the Super Nintendo Chalmers scene, but in my defence, the moment when Ralph starts speaking and the smile melts off Gary's face is amazing. He doesn't even have to say anything to make the bit work.

Man. My heart kinda sank when you didn't include Lindsey Nagel in the characters with momentum. I was so sure we were finally getting somewhere with that suggestion... Well, I'll keep trying! One day it'll happen and I'll be ready for it.
That said thanks for the episode on Gary, he's always been one of my sneaky favorites in the secondary cast and this didn't disappoint!
Keep up the great work.
Lindsay Naegle is kind of a strange character because she's in tons of episodes, but we still barely know anything about her.
Yeah I'd LOVE an episode for Lindsay!!! She's such a bizarre character, almost like she doesn't have continuity in the same way other characters do. She always seems to be in a new situation. Like the surly construction worker guy from Futurama, but for a very different demographic.
I know how you feel. I keep hoping for a history episode on the bullies. Give me my Dolf, damnit!
Lindsey Nagel would be great, too. Off the top of my head, we recently got that episode about Sarah Wigum, where it's revealed she and Lindsey used to be in a jewel-thief gang together. And there's that one time Marge asked her straight out why she keeps changing jobs and Lindsey casually replies, "I'm a sexual predator."

A Simpsons Histories of Rainier Wolfcastle or Duffman would be interresting...have they evolve or is there more ?
Barry Duffman needs an episode... OH YEAH
Thing with doing a history of Duffman is it's canon there's not just one of 'em:
"Duffman can never die, only the actors who play him."
@@ravenwilder4099 We've also seen at least one of them die on screen (or at least implied by the stopping of bubbles) in the hundred keys one if I remember right.

I'm so excited to learn about Super Nintendo Chalmers!
"It's always the children's fault, isn't it, Seymour?"
"Yes. Yes, it is, sir."
Damn you weren’t kidding about modern Simpsons using him a ton.
Gil has always been one of my favourite side characters. But someone else mentioned Lindsay Nagle and I’d love to see her too
Gil is another character who was introduced surprisingly late into the series; he didn't appear until Season 9.
Bart stops to smell the Roosevelt's is easily top 10 episodes for me
Love that doing Chalmers's history can TWICE make Jims go "What even is this show?"
I think it would be really neat to do a Simpsons histories on Maggie
I feel like there’s some great moments with Maggie (like do it for her) and that there may be more to Maggie’s history in the show than we think
Watching this video during my unforgettable luncheon.
"Chalmers even sings a conspiracy-based wedding song for Gil and Ms Hoover"
What
Yeah, the last few seasons get exceptionally weird on occasion. Not necessarily in a bad way, but definitely very strange (like having Flanders star in a super serious and brutally violent pastiche of Fargo, or having Bill Cipher from Gravity Falls show up at the end of one episode)
Nice observation in the parallels between Skinner and Agnes's relationship, and Chalmers and Shauna's relationship; I hadn't thought of that! Good stuff as always
Azaria has mentioned where he has gotten many of his voices (impressions of celebrities and friends) but Chalmers is one of the few he hasn't mentioned the origin of the voice. I would like to know if there a special story behind the voice.
Interesting. Can you give examples of who his characters are based off?
@@stephenryan7855 Azaria's wiki page on the Simpsons wiki mentions most of them except for Kirk, which is his Milhouse impression
I've been asking for this episode for years now! I'm glad it finally happened. It may seem unthinkable, but Superintendent Chamlers wasn't the most popular back in the day, to the point that on the day the Simpsons received their Hollywood Star, Matt Groening joked that he always saw unsold toys of Chalmers & Resort Smithers on the shelves. Super Nintendo Chamlers has become of the most popular characters on the show in no small part thanks to his major role in some later episodes, memes, & of course, STEAMED HAMS!
Easily my favorite Charlmers line, probably in my top 5 Simpsons lines of all time: Oh, I have had it, I have had it with this school, "Skinner! The low test scores, class after class of ugly, ugly children!" Something in his delivery just absolutely slays me.
And I think it would make sense is Chalmers himself was raised christian, but not actually religious himself, and Rosemarie was jewish, making Shauna jewish as well. Like Frasier/Lilith/Freddie.
Who else is joining the Lindsey Nagel Simpsons History video hype train?
Lindsay Naegle is kind of a strange character because she's in tons of episodes, but we still barely know anything about her.
YES
Once again, I am throwing Lenny and Carl into the ring. I want a Simpsons Histories on them already! This video was really great though. I hadn't realized just how integral Chalmers is and how much he's evolved into a real, fleshed-out character with some consistency.
Superintendent Chalmers is such a hilarious character! Hes definitely his best when hes with Principal Skinner! I also really enjoy the depth theyve given him in recent years
A Simpsons Histories episode? At this time of day? At this time of the year? Localized entirely within your RUclips Channel?!
Unironically my favorite (non-SH) Chalmers moment IS from Road to Cincinnati. As a Cincy boy myself Skyline is my favorite food and that scene of the two of them enjoying chili together after that whole episode was just really sweet, you know?
I think my favorite classic Chalmers and Skinner bit is in Part one of 'Who Shot Mr. Burns?'. It's a very short moment with the newspaper but it feels so much like a proto-steamed hams bit that I bet that it influenced the scene a little bit.
As for who to cover next, I'll vote Quimby. He's one of those characters that is always around because local politics are good plots for the town but very rarely gets the spotlight himself.
Although he has gotten a few spotlight episodes.
Quimby; If you were running for Simpsons Histories he’d vote for you.

@@yesticles lol i was coming to write that exact thing lol
I laugh whenever Chalmskinn makes an appearance. I think Shauna is my favourite part of him, it’s a dynamic that works really well together and it’s nice to see them separate from him and Skinner
I know Shauna is purposefully written to be annoying as hell, but she makes me laugh everytime she appears. I loved the recent episode where she and Lisa bond over music.
I'm not sure if it's my all-time favourite scene with him, but I've always really liked the whole Honda Accord sequence that opens Lisa's Date With Density. Chalmers gets to deliver funny lines that aren't just reactions to Skinner's antics and which subtly reveal a bit more about him ("from point A to point B, and on weekends point C", "What's the point of having a Honda if you can't show it off?"). It's the first instance where you can laugh not just to what Chalmers says but also to him as a person. Plus I love all of Skinner's comments in that scene, the dramatic shot of the stolen hood ornament, and Skinner and Chalmers getting caught red-handed while trying steal another hood ornament from Kearney's car.
Skinner,I'm right here sir, don't scare me like that again Seymour.
My favorite non luncheon Chalmers moment HAS to be "Class after class of UGLY children!"
The steamed hams meme fooled me into thinking "Seymour!" was his catchphrase. I was so confused when I started watching the series and instead he’d always yell "Skinner!".
oh, I definitely would love a Cletus history!
Chalmers is interesting, because as you said they really whipped that catchphrase to death, which is a pretty stark contrast to how they dropped the old Bart catchphrases from the early days ("I'm Bart Simpson, who the hell are you?" "Ay, caramba" [ok, that one did stick around a lot longer], "Underachiever and proud of it" etc) and even did a Bart episode about a catchphrase being run into the ground ("I didn't do it") and apparently didn't learn anything from it...
Cletus is one of those characters who seems gimmicky but actually has a lot of depth.
I've always loved Chalmers' reaction to the scene with Lumpy the school snake. It's a classic clip that sets up his dynamic with Skinner in just a brief moment.
Chalmers is one of those characters that doesn't play a center role in much but the show would be so much different without him, he just adds a lot to the scenes he is in even without doing much. He shows how much a straight man can play in a comedy without needing to really do too much else.

Whats interesting is that in The Simpsons:Tapped Out, Chalmers has a task called "Break Character", which involves him flailing nunchucks in a tutu, so I guess that could explain why its such an odd thing for him to do.
i love this channel because despite never watching an episode of the simpsons in my life that i can remember i still end up getting attached to these characters because of how jims describes them
I have watched all of the Simpsons but I also often watch videos about things I have never seen and get a feeling I know the characters

Fun fact: the Latin American dub of the show alternates between referring to him as "Superintendente Chalmers" and, weirdly, "Inspector Archundia"
At least they’ve got a good name for the sorcerer appearance
I'd love to hear about Jacqueline Bouvier as well. Her first appearance has her come down with laryngitis, but I'd love to know if there was a reason why the voice actor kept doing the quiet, hoarse voice afterwards.
Yeah, that'd be interesting.
Is she still on the show? I thought she disappeared around season 5. Unless she’s had a recent resurgence just seems really under-used.
@@nhailstone She still appears on the show, she just hasn't had a MAJOR appearance in forever.
I’d like to see a lightning round episode about all the weird characters that appear in crowds, like Duffman, Disco Stu, Lenny and Bumblebee Man. Like, where did their catchphrases start? How much of their lives do we know?
That'd be a good one, I know we've seen some of Bumblebee Man's life, but I wonder how much we know about this one-note characters like Duffman or Disco Stu, like how many Simpsons' regulars has Duffman dated? Or how often has Disco Stu appeared in the later seasons?
How is Lenny weird?
@@danielshaffer-green5684 I find it odd how, even though we get an established catchphrase and two different settings, he’s never been a lead in an episode. Also, the fact that he’s seemingly an average, if not mediocre guy makes for the loser jokes to be funny but also for a lot of jokes where he’s weirdly loved by Springfield. We get him nominated for an Oscar, being a war hero and the kids exclaiming “not Lenny!”
On the other side, we get a lot of jokes on him being a loser, being really average, and being really wimpy.
The Aurora Borealis. In that room, centralized to that location. Can I see it?
I was hoping this chapter would be called Supernintendo Chalmers.
It's always great to watch these vids, and learn things I didn't due to not being an avid watcher of later seasons. Chalmers has always been cool to see with how he plays off Skinner, ands it's hard to pick a favorite moment with him for me personally, since there's so many good ones to choose from other than Steams Hams of course. I would like to submit my usual picks for the next Simpsons Histories which include Lindsey Naegle, Agnus Skinner, Duffman, and my two most recent suggestions, Santa's Little Helper and Snowball 2. Great job as always Jim.
I'd love to see a video on Ruth Powers. She's one of my favorite minor characters.
This episode was, no joke, one of the best things you’ve ever done. And I’m including that time you saved that lady from drowning when you were eight. I am saddened that Leopoldo didn’t even get a name check, however.
I vote “time/space nightmare,” BTW. I’ve long assumed that Simpsons episodes often don’t happen in linear order. Regarding Chalmers and religion, I’d suggest this read on it: Chalmers himself was Jewish, but not terribly observant or religious in his own, and tolerated his wife’s Christianity. OR, if you prefer, Chalmers was nominally Christian and his wife was Jewish, then, after she died, he converted and poured himself into his new Judaism because it was the only aspect of his wife that was still there, and maybe he’s trying to make up for not taking that part of her life more seriously.
I tend to assume the latter because we never see him at church WITH anyone, and I know a couple people IRL who were in similar situations.
Mocking religion in general could have been that “angry with God” phase a lot of people go through after losing a loved one.
Y’no, if you’re the kind of person who’s into headcanon and making sense of retcons
I like that.
Super Nintendo, Chalmers
Happy to be notified, ready for you to stream a good ham.
Skinner and Chalmers' frenemy energy is always comedy gold.
Traditionally Jewish identity passes through the maternal line so Rosemary could have been Jewish while could be a not very observant Prebylutheran... which would be consistent with the characterization presented.
For the next one, I, for one, would love a Simpsons Histories about the Rich Texan.
I'm from Utica and I never heard that saying.
After the end of the universe in whatever way, Steamed Hams will still continue to be hilarious!
Finally! I really enjoyed this episode. And I've loved seeing how Superintendent Chalmers has been subtly given depth and warmed up to Skinner over the years.
On a side note, you mentioned the Lenny and Carl-esque jokes about them being "couple-like" and honestly? Those moments have really gotten me to ship these two. They work so well together, especially since they're both lonely and have a lot of common struggles. I really hope Chalmers and Skinner actually DO become a couple. It would be the best thing for the both of them.
The day has finally come
At 22:12 you say the episode Road to Cincinnati is in season 22, but I think you meant season 32. I only caught that because it’s my favorite episode, which is why I’m so glad you tackled Chalmers!
I think the best way to describe Chalmers in a single joke, is when Flanders is in charge of the school and everyone is going nuts. Bart shows him that mess and he just goes "Yeah, but this is probably how everything's gonna be eventually". It makes you wonder, how much does he turn a blind eye to on purpose. Maybe, unlike Grimes, he learned that the wackiness and insanity is just a part of what he signed for, and that he has no time for that nonsense.
The religion stuff is about religion in public schools and how it can get schools in legal trouble thus stamping down on it
My favorite line by Chalmers outside of steamed hams is "Oh Skinner i have had it with this school - the low test scores, class after class of UGLY, UGLY children!"
OK, suggestions for the time:
Disco Stu
Moe
Mr. Teeny
Sea Captain.
Skinner himself.
Sarah Wiggum.
and the Squeaky Voiced teen.
I feel heard, thank you Jim.
Might be an unpopular pick but I’d love a simpsons history on apu. He’s interesting to me because he got two huge status quo changes (getting married then having a million kids) but they happened so early in the series a lot of people don’t even remember he started out the show being single
He was actually single for the first 8 seasons.
Mister Famicom truly is a shockingly deep character
"...wedding song for Gil and Miss Hoover" WAIT WHAT
Awesome video as always. Btw, inspired by you, for the first time I went to The Simpsons Archive and checked how fans perceived the classic episodes at the time. I was expecting praise after praise, but boy was I wrong! Episode that instantly came to mind as a widely touching episode was "And Maggie Makes Three". It's all good to have differing opinions, I'm not mad, just surprised. Now I get it why Simpsons staff would sometimes be harsh to the fans. ;)
Didn't know Supernintendo Chalmers had such a long history on the show
