Na. This is bull, this Jamal defence. Let me ask you this? Do you think Donovan Mitchell would look as slow and as clueless as Jamal without Jokic on the court? hell no he wouldn't.
I think they should simply give Jamal a night off while Jokic is out and give Russ a chance to start using a lineup of: Jordan, Watson, MPJ, CB, and Russ. Shorten the rotation to only: Strawther, Saric, Alexander, and Tyson off the bench. What you would be trying to do is play at a much faster pace all around to boost scoring. You are not going to win many nba games scoring under 100 pts. Increasing the pace of play can get the team to around at least 106-114 pts. If Jordan is slowing the pace too dramatically, go small with Watson at the five. I'm not saying this will work for a win but i do think it will work in terms of increasing point production(not efficiency) Basically you just want to see whether a faster pace matches the talent a bit more. Murray plays at a slower pace and is more comfortable in the half court, which might not match the majority of the roster, unless Jokic(a highly efficient player, elite play maker, and dominant rebounder) is on the floor. Since MPJ and CB are the best players with Jokic and Gordon out, they might need to see if those two match better in a faster paced style with Russ rather than in a half court set with Murray. I think the team can't start Murray with Russ with Jokic out because it sort of defeats the purpose of Russ playing 30-34 mins at his pace. If he and Murray are on the floor, this is Murray's team and Murray's offense and we have already heard the head coach say Russ needs to learn their style(he said specifically this will not be a Russ show) That means waiting for Murray and Murray on the ball more than Russ. So it's best to simply give Jamal the night off to experiment. Get the youngsters running and having fun! See what happens!
This is more of an indictment of Malone than Murray. Isn’t it starting to look like the Nuggets are good solely because of Jokic and not Malones schemes or Murray? Malone can’t game plan for the lack of Jokic. Most other coaches can.
Vogt called out Count Murray last regular season and got on his bad side and everyone was shivering in terror of murrays wrath---but they were defending champs at the time--murray had the leverage--(it also shows how long murrays been dogging it)
Jamal Murray is an overrated player who had 2 good playoff runs. One in the bubble and one in the 2023 Championship year. Does anyone remember how terrible he was in the first and second round of 2019, how about how terrible he was in last years playoffs, remember he missed 2021 and the 2022 playoff runs. He worth 135 million not 208 million. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
You have to account for inflation and for the fact that he’s getting paid for what he’s done not what he’s doing. He earned this check up until May this year.
@ slap yourself, Norman Powell of the clippers is on a 5 year 90 million dollar contract averaging 23.3 ppg 3.2 Rebs and 2.5 assists. Has never been an all star but has contributed on his share of teams. Jamal has never been an all star and has helped the nuggets win a chip kudos. But at 208 million can you beat the Pelicans missing 6 contributors please. I’m sorry is that to much to ask of a max player?
The tough part is murray can easily turn this around it just sucks that when we need him early in the season and he cant perform it feels like what the hell are the nuggets doing. But he always starts slow thats been arguably the most frustrating thing about jamal. We need the good jamal to win a chip we have what we have no one can do what he did with jokic during that championship run that we can actually acquire.
If Jamal Murray has the same contract from his first one then, ok he is playing within his contract but now with 208 million comes with great expectations, we extend Jamal and MPJ too early
Not having so much as a functional offense or defense without your star player on the court to this level is unprecedented incompetency. I don’t think it’s a personnel issue, a lot of these guys are winning team basketball players. I think Jamal and MPJ pulling in 70 mil a year and producing as poorly as they do would be a death sentence for any basketball team.
U keep saying same thing over and over again...Jamal is that, MPJ is this...they are great, they gonna shine in playoffs...blahh, blahh...crap! I do not trust them...Nuggets made mistake with both of them, such a big contracts...for what???

Remember the Murray that could drop 50? Haven’t seen that guy in a long time.
At this rate, he might be dropping 50 Nuggets at McDonald's soon 😂

Mal looked like those psych outs in the cult classic comedy, "Baseketball" when the shooters are so psyched out that cannot even stand upright.

We wouldn’t get games like this in a 64 game season.
Norman Powell is better than Murray
Bring back d lines vest
D-line‘s takes are like he has Alzheimer’s. Two games?! Jamal sucks since a while longer than two games
