A veteran needs to use a civilian doctor to get doctor to recommend multiple days of bed rest a month. X number of days a month over a 12 month period equates to guaranteed percentages. I did and VA opted to give me a 40% lower back rating.

I have wondered how to get an increase. I had a really bad flare up a year or two ago. I have had a MRI, gone to physical therapy and I have pain meds for my back when it hurts which is often. My last flare up went down my right leg resulting in me taking time off of work for two weeks. I could not walk without being in severe pain. I still have a shadow pain feeling in my right leg from it. I do have an existing rating for my back.

What VA form is used in a C&P exam for the lumbar?

Does the doctor/NP have the right to push patient over until they are bending at a 90 degree angle at the waist to get a better reading?

No, the jerk I had did that to me, and a friend of mine said the same thing happened to him. It's BS what they put us through. Mine was with a contractor his was AT the VA.

@@louc8782 they can put their hand on you to assist you, but it’s up to you to tell them to stop. Don’t bend further than where the pain begins. Nobody should be shoving you to bend forward but my doctor put her hand on my back just trying to assist like is there a chance you can go further and I told her no I’m in pain just standing here, she made about three attempts and that was it. They’re not putting you through anything except trying to get an accurate exam. Never let anyone push you to the point of pain if it’s chronic and you have pain just standing there. You need to make them well aware of that.

No, the doctor or np doesn't have the right to touch you and force helping you been it has happened to me, and I still was denied by the c&p examiner
