  • We took a sleeper bus to Sa Pa Vietnam from Tam Coc (Ninh Binh) and it was our first time ever in a sleeper bus. The experience didn't go as planned as not every travel day can be a good one.
We are trying to show the "real" part of travelling on a budget and getting from point A to point B. We tried to save a few bucks when booking the sleeper bus, but quickly (or not so quickly in the video) learned that sometimes you get what you pay for!
Did you ever have a nightmare travel day? Let us know in the comments below.

Not all travel days go as planned...We took a sleeper bus from Tam Coc (Ninh Binh) to Sa Pa in northern Vietnam. A scheduled 7 hour bus ride turned into a longer than expected arrival. Let us know in the comments below if you have had a nightmare travel day before!

Lol… it was a ride for sure. The train would be a great option or the VIP sleeper buses are great also.

We did the same kistake recently 😅 those buses will not change even the blankets, so we basically use previously used pillows and blankets 😅 all in my youtube vlog as well

Was there a VIP bus option in Tam Coc?

    • @midlifetravelbug

There was, however we booked less than 24 hours and our options were very limited. There were also more options if we would have left from Ninh Binh. We didn't know what to expect because we have never been on a sleeper bus before. We specifically booked the 4pm - 11pm bus so we wouldn't be travelling all night, lol. Sometimes you just can't control the travel days :)

Lol... the travel days don't usually go as planned! I think they have improved since 2007, the 25 hours must have been hard!
