For those wondering what Connie laughed about, he was accidentaly making a pun out of the japanese word for house, which is pronounced like Eren's last name; Jäger.
He basically realised this mid sentence when he worried if Berthold would destroy Eren's House==> Eren.......YAEGA!
This is one of the prime examples of japanese puns being impossible,hard to translate or rather adapt/replace. One piece and Gintama are full with this kind of shit.

In case anyone missed it, eavesdropping is also a pun.
The eaves of a house are the part of a roof that meets or overhangs it's walls.
So commenting about Eren's eavesdropping was a pun about how the eaves of his house might be in the debris falling from the sky.
The English translation in the manga was: there are roofs on our heads or something like that if I’m correct

Anime did it a lot better tbh. The whole buildup between Erwin and Levi, basically the entire episode had multiple layers on everything;
For starters, watch the OVA about Levi and his backstory if you haven't already; Erwin basically sent Levi and his friends to their death, but because Levi is an Ackerman, he was able to handle himself. That's basically the reason/defining moment for Levi where his "idgaf character" really set in.
Knowing this dynamic between the two, the moment when Levi decides to self sacrifice for the greater good in Erwin and Eren surviving takes on much more depth.
Also when Erwen was going through his monologue asking "if you can see the faces of our fallen comrades", in the baxkground of Levi, you see his friends thst got killed in the OVA, which pushed Levi over the edge at the time.
When Erwen starts breaking down, it's just another form of manipulation. Its probably not intentional, just a self preservation thing. Regardless, Levi takes charge when he says "I'm making the call" and he KNEELS DOWN, HEAD👏DOWN👏SALUTING👏MY👏MFKING👏MAN👏ERVIN👏SMEETHS👏
While HE (Levi) sends Erwin to his death.
It's really bitter sweet, cuz you know Levi wanted Erwens blood just as much as Erwin wanted the truth 😥😭

so Floch is a heavily debated character but him asking "if we're gonna die anyway then it doesn't matter if i disobey orders right?" is extremely realistic.
imagine being told you are going to die no matter what. many people are still gonna want to self preserve to do something, anything for themselves.
but what pushes it further for me is his shocked reaction at Erwin just flat out saying "that's right, it doesn't matter" cause to me that tells me Floch wanted to hear something motivational to push him forward. He wanted to hear something else that disagreed with him wanting to run away and be a coward but Erwin just agreed.

Let's face it. Even playing team moba on PC a typical 16 year old would just ragequit/troll/lose their shit on the slightest verge of defeat/choke, now scale that wayyyyy up to ACTUAL WARFARE where lives are at stake.
They were feeling the moment. I'm sure the others felt this same sentiment when their lives are about to be decimated lol It's that desparate feeling of hopelessness that makes people look for something to place immediate blame in a horrible circumstance. Just as it is realistic for Armin to choke in the midst of life and death, it is just as realistic for his comrades to get fed up and angry/frustrated with him. "Armin you a punk" is the modern phrase to what the others were possibly feeling in this moment. "You're the brains! Get us out of this!" It's unfair, but reality

This episode really hit me emotionally. The hopeless feeling was felt even from the viewer. Like what does one come up with in this situation? lol. Erwin's heartfelt conversation with levi...that scene speaks for itself. Started tearing up. To keep going this far and get sooo close to the truth :/ Poor eren XD Getting flung on top of the wall. I swear I didn't laugh at that part when i watched the episode the first time, but reactors commenting on that scene got me rolling. Shout out to jean for at least attempting to lead the others even when the chances were slim to making any damage to bert. Armin..I feel for you too. At least you recognized that you couldn't think of anything at that moment. Sometimes you need to step aside for a sec so you can swoop back in at the very moment they need need you. Levi...the look on his poor face seeing his comrades instantly killed. And when he saw them charging to their deaths towards the end.."I'm sorry" .I don't wanna hear no one say he don't show emotion or that he doesn't care about his comrades. Before erwin announced his plan, he was already suggesting that they escape while he served as bait. Just so humanity could still have hope some other time. Erwin...you are truly the GOAT. That speech was every bit ICONIC! Goodness. the chills that I got. Not to mention I started crying towards the end. I truly felt like a soldier at that moment. Even was on the verge of puking myself lol. I hate that it had to come down to this for you and all those young scouts. I honestly don't blame the rookies for getting like that. If I was in the same situation, I would be a total mess as well. Each week keeps on getting better & better!

One of the many things this anime is good at is making us feel when a situation is dire and serious. Like actually worried the characters wondering how they'll survive.

Erwin was a tactical genius and knew what needed to be done. And he had the courage to say it. But he needed Levi to command him to give up on his dreams, just as Erwin had commanded all his soldiers to do. Erwin very much seemed to be relieved and grateful for this.
