i aint gonna lie, i read the manga but seeing that final charge animated just filled me with so much emotion: anger, sadness, encouragement. I'm with Rob, AOT makes you feel like you're a part of the show. AOT deserves an award.

He basically realised this mid sentence when he worried if Berthold would destroy Eren's House==> Eren.......YAEGA! This is one of the prime examples of japanese puns being impossible,hard to translate or rather adapt/replace. One piece and Gintama are full with this kind of shit.
In case anyone missed it, eavesdropping is also a pun. The eaves of a house are the part of a roof that meets or overhangs it's walls. So commenting about Eren's eavesdropping was a pun about how the eaves of his house might be in the debris falling from the sky.

The whole buildup between Erwin and Levi, basically the entire episode had multiple layers on everything; For starters, watch the OVA about Levi and his backstory if you haven't already; Erwin basically sent Levi and his friends to their death, but because Levi is an Ackerman, he was able to handle himself. That's basically the reason/defining moment for Levi where his "idgaf character" really set in. Knowing this dynamic between the two, the moment when Levi decides to self sacrifice for the greater good in Erwin and Eren surviving takes on much more depth. Also when Erwen was going through his monologue asking "if you can see the faces of our fallen comrades", in the baxkground of Levi, you see his friends thst got killed in the OVA, which pushed Levi over the edge at the time. When Erwen starts breaking down, it's just another form of manipulation. Its probably not intentional, just a self preservation thing. Regardless, Levi takes charge when he says "I'm making the call" and he KNEELS DOWN, HEAD👏DOWN👏SALUTING👏MY👏MFKING👏MAN👏ERVIN👏SMEETHS👏 While HE (Levi) sends Erwin to his death. It's really bitter sweet, cuz you know Levi wanted Erwens blood just as much as Erwin wanted the truth 😥😭

This episode really hit me emotionally. The hopeless feeling was felt even from the viewer. Like what does one come up with in this situation? lol. Erwin's heartfelt conversation with levi...that scene speaks for itself. Started tearing up. To keep going this far and get sooo close to the truth :/ Poor eren XD Getting flung on top of the wall. I swear I didn't laugh at that part when i watched the episode the first time, but reactors commenting on that scene got me rolling. Shout out to jean for at least attempting to lead the others even when the chances were slim to making any damage to bert. Armin..I feel for you too. Erwin was a tactical genius and knew what needed to be done. And he had the courage to say it. But he needed Levi to command him to give up on his dreams, just as Erwin had commanded all his soldiers to do. Erwin very much seemed to be relieved and grateful for this.
As a manga reader, I've always wondered why didn't the scout regiment charge to the side and take out those idle titans, and if the beast titan is throwing rocks at them or chasing them, at least they got an open field while riding their horses, they could've taken out more titans and had a better chance of survival and they are harder to get hit by rocks if they are not charging straight on

Whenever an anime character that i like dies i would always feel disappointed and sad. Feeling that character could have been so much more. But then when Erwin died, i shed a tear, i also felt the stages of sadness, grief and regret but there is not disappointment at all, because Erwin has done so much already... He suffered too much already from all of the burdens and regrets. And now Im just happy he can finally rest..and thats how awesomely written Commander Erwin "THE GOAT" smith is.

As a manga reader, I've always wondered why didn't the scout regiment charge to the side and take out those idle titans, and if the beast titan is throwing rocks at them or chasing them, at least they got an open field while riding their horses, they could've taken out more titans and had a better chance of survival and they are harder to get hit by rocks if they are not charging straight on

Whenever an anime character that i like dies i would always feel disappointed and sad. Feeling that character could have been so much more. But then when Erwin died, i shed a tear, i also felt the stages of sadness, grief and regret but there is not disappointment at all, because Erwin has done so much already... He suffered too much already from all of the burdens and regrets. And now Im just happy he can finally rest..and thats how awesomely written Commander Erwin "THE GOAT" smith is.
