When I redid my jon boat mod this year having a lockable rod locker was my main priority. It's the reason I cut my middle bench out. It has saved me so much time in the parking lot. I used to have to load and unload my rods at the ramp and that little bit of time makes a difference. Not to mention I don't worry about my rods if I'm dropping a deuce before hitting the road when I fish alone 😁

Might do the locker. Seems like it's what the people want.

@@TRICKEDTINS I'm sure your customer will appreciate it. When not holding rods it just becomes a large stow. I use my port side rod locker for a paddle, life vests and tackle. Can't go wrong.

This type of "making of a jon boat to bass boat conversion" is exactly, what i want to see! Your hands are magic your builds are masterpieces. And yes, i think too that a welded an thickr hull jon boat base from weldbilt or express is the right choice for customizing and put in thousends of dollars in fishing gear. I would never do it with a rivited or/and thin hull. Nice to hear that from you. Rock n roll dude. Make us happy. Great content!

Great start. New or old, so you want a custom build. Stuff gotta be moved, cut and welded. Not for the weak hearted. I'm a fan of the rod locker because I mostly fish alone. If I had to leave my boat for a minute it wouldn't be an option around here. Loving the plan and build so far.

The rod locker is important because you don't want dust getting in the reels when traveling. Plus most bass guys bring extra rods that won't always be used but need to be stored on the boat.

    • @TRICKEDTINS

For sure. Tig is way cleaner, and you have so much more control. Anybody can squeeze the trigger on a mig gun.

If you're on the fish you just need a couple rods out, everything else is in the rod locker. If you need a bunch of rods out, you throw your bags, jackets, and trash into the locker because it's a huge compartment. If you're traveling a lockable rod locker is critical. Same thing with the live well. If you're keeping fish you need a big live well. If you're not keeping fish you use your live well as a cooler / storage. If you're fishing tournaments a big live well is critical.

    • @TRICKEDTINS

@@TRICKEDTINS allot of your flowers I'm sure have old riveted tins. Thinking your to good to work on someones older riveted tins is not a good look at all. Most people who own these boats aren't wealthy. There cheap boats so the average working man they can afford them if not new the older RIVETED tins for sure. And allot of people love the older boats. Sure its great to work on only new boats, there clean, built better etc. But not a good business model. And honestly with that attitude and way of thinking I bet your turning away allot of money that could be had, and turning off allot of subscribers like me. Take me for example, I have some money. I have several boats in Florida and N.Y. But I have this one tin boat i liked and purchased used here is fl. I own 4 tins all together and several various offshore boats. So a subscriber or customer might just want a floor or a trolling motor mount etc. Quick easy money. They follow you and most likely dream of one day wanting some work done from you as i did.. I sent you a couple photos and texts. Not one reply. So your certainly not a business man in the tin boat business or here to make money off the actual boats, your all for show on here! And with that you lost a subscriber and a potential customer who would have spent thousands over the years of i liked your work. But nope.. you judge a book by its cover! Piece ✌
