In 2022 what do you think is the best 15 and 18 inch woofer in the $1000 and lower price range for clear, powerful bass that you can feel and hear and really fills a room with impressive bass - thanks
Hello , thanks for the video . just watched the set up with the EV ELX 118 P Sub paired with the ZLX 12P , i have a pair of these sub which i use for my Reggae Band , my top speakers are 15inch Behringer which was obviously the wrong choice didn't know better and did no research , am now shopping for a replacement pair of tops and wants to make no mistake on this , we do a lot of out doors gigs and are looking for good punch speakers , what's my best choice on the ZLX ? 12 " v/s 15" , are all these 2 way full range and which will give the best delivery , in my research i only found 1000 wattage on both 12 "and 15 " , are there other wattage on these and if so what would be my best option base on what i will use them for ? thank you ! i just remember this , 2 way V/S 3 way speakers what's your take ?
If I get the. JBL 18 sub , what do you recommend for front speakers, I’m placing the JBL in my basement for home theater and also for loud EDM music enjoyment , I have a receiver that has several pre out , thank you
I run all my main mix through the tops, high pass some of the lows out, and then I run a separate aux channel for lows to send to the sub and low pass it so it has the cleanest signal and I have more control over the overall sound.
Can you run 2 of the 12bt speakers with just 1 sub? is there better value sub solution? Don't know if I want to spend more than 1000 for a sub for home use.
Important question here. I have the same subwoofer and Listen very loud outdoor. Limiter is blinking a lot of times. Is it bad for the sub, can it get damaged? Or is the software „protecting“ the sub and prevent any issues. Greetings from Germany
Don't limit your speakers. having a light flash once in a while aint to bad, they can handle that. But having the limit light flashing all the time can definitly damage your speaker, or even blow it up. I always try to keep my speakers out of the reds when doing gigs, i don't want to come home with a few blown subs. You wouldn't be the first blowing shit up by limiting your speakers constantly. The light aint protecting anything, just telling you to turn that shit down :). My ev sub sometimes overheads before even hitting the limiter. Best advice: get some extra subs. I have some 12 inch top speakers (not ev's) that got damaged by hitting the limiters all night long.
Wrong factiul info in this. The outputs from any of the EV dsp modules, are hardwired through. The dps in the top (in this case) will NOT affect the sub - not for xover freq. or anything else.
So if you give me, the settings are not affecting the sub when you change them? I’m assuming the top speaker’s output is connected into the input of the sub
All self proclaimed professionals probably prefer a dedicated crossover unit, but it's not an absolute necessity since most powered speakers or subs will have some type of crossover in them. I had one but sold it because I wanted one less thing to have to deal with hooking up at my weddings. But if you did have a crossover, you could fine tune your frequency settings a lot more to your own taste than a lot of speakers would normally allow with their built in settings. In my experience, as long as your are loud and have bass, most of your audience is going to be more than satisfied. They're not going to have the elite audiophile ear. And also they will be too drunk to care probably.
I have a budget on 2000$ and im going to buy a pa system, two tops and 1-2 subs i have looked a bit on the mackie thump 15a and 18s two of them each and also alto ts3 series. Or i buy two zlx 15p and one elx118 sub what do you guys think is the best buy?
I would get two ZLX-12P and one ELX200-18SP instead. Let me explain the reasons. First of all why 12" speakers instead of 15?" Most of the pros recommend that you use a 12" when you are going to have a subwoofer/s. They say that the 12"s give more mid range clarity than a 15" would. And why the ELX200-18SP? EV did a lowdown thing with the ELX118 that I hate. It only has one input. That means you would have to buy two of them right away. With your budget, you could not buy two unless you bought them used. But the ELX200-18SP has TWO inputs! So just one ELX200-18SP subwoofer can feed a signal to both of your ZLX speakers! And it's a newer sub also.
Hey Expet Island, my question is, I do have the EV Evolve 50 (2 sets, still under the 45 days try) very happy at this point but I do want to know if 2 ELX200 12 Powered subwoofer along with my the 2 JBL EON612 will be a better option with more power and better quality in the sound? or should I just stay with the 2 sets of EV Evolve 50?
Hey there ! I need a help about something. In our church, i have 2 zlx15p and will buy another 2. You think that 2 subwoofers ETX18SP or EKX18SP will be the suficient for me? the church has 400m².
Locate your subs next to each other and don't spread them out. That will allow them to couple and increase the output by 3db. Locate them next to a wall and that will add another 3db gain. That will increase your output by a total of 6 db.
DUDE! I cannot believe anyone would wear a Hawaiian shirt with a T-shirt underneath. Where is your sense of fashion? This is sacrilegious. LOL. Great video BTW
You deserve all your sales and success from all the effort you put into your videos and marketing and getting to know and connect with your clients
My first video I've seen of yours, I can't wait to watch yours others! Well done , great explanation, funny , informative, charismatic
You seem to advertise more of the harbinger speakers these days. Which one would choose between EV ELX200-15P VS HARBINGER VARI V4115 speaker?
Nice video !! Unfortunately in Brazil this set costs a fortune .... (Nice video!! Infelizmente no Brazil esse set custa uma fortuna....)
Im debating on this one or the bose 2
Nice! Same setup for my DJ business.
Thanks for the video. Very helpful. I have EV 2 EKX 15p and 15sp. Just for my home. Sounds crazy loud.

hi robin, did you ever review the ev ekx 18sp? would love to see that. cheers.
What's better the EV or the JBL Eon?
What subwoofer pole mount is that?
Wait... I have been going from mixer to sub to tops (exact ones in your video). I figured the amp has it's own crossover, no?
What do you have pn top?
@@expertisland Same speakers in the video ELX118P and ZLX12P tops.
Go top then sub select your sub on the zlx and now you will have the best active subwoofer settings

EV ELX 118P or JBL EON 618 s, who is the best

Does this sub only have a crossover via the top speakers mixer/dsp?
You are very knowledgeable, what powered sub would you recommend for deepest bass on the $800 range?
For now would look at this one or the Mackie Thump 18sub next week We get the Eon-18P subwoofer from JBL That one may be better?
We got the JBL eon in yesterday and the ELX118P is louder the JBL feels Deeper in a large space. New Video coming Soon Monday or Tuesday.
@@expertisland hey can you do a video comparing the subs side by side which of the 3 is deepest etc
expert island how much louder is the Ev sub compared to the JBL eon 618 sub?
Rene Rodriguez I had the same question expert island .
Is it 700w true rms??
Whats the built in crossovee of these? Also how do you think these would sound eith two yamaha dxr 12's
gracias muy buena información.
is it louder than the alto ts218s??

Can i connect my 2 zlx 15p both in to the elx 118 p?
Yes. Mixer L-R to both 15Ps, then 1 XLR down to the Sub.
@@g3o5d the path makes no difference. 1 line out can run all your powered speakers.
@@todds5956 . . Correct, this unit has no Crossed over output. So, the Line coming in can be from Mixer or another speaker.

Hey what's up would you recommend running the ELX Sub through a processor only a sub frequency

EV has some of the best sounding tops yet they don’t offer a big power sub.
