That is a conventional rod not a spinning rod. You have the rod upside down.

*This was my second uglystick and these things are great and don't know what took me so long to get one. The tip is great and you can feel the lightest strike from any fish. We do a lot of charter boat fishing ( bottom Fishing ) and the length and strength of this rod is great. Im an uglystick guy for life now.*
It’s a conventional rod piard with a spinning reel I could recommend like a penn sqaul for that

Legit video idea: you should see how far you can cast different size sinkers on different rod types until either the rod breaks or you can't lift the weight any more.

If you're using the dock demon, watch you fingers. I have a feeling a heavy lure will hit your hand before it goes over the rod.
I have a Gx2 and so far I love it.
I bought it for $50, then about a week later I saw it in a Walmart for $25, I'm kicking myself
I own two ugly stik bigwater rods. A 7 foot rod, and a 10 foot surf rod. I love them and they work great.

My gx2 is the shit I love ugly stik!!! I have caught massive fish and snag the hell of it many times. I've thrown it dropped it dragged it and it's still working like a champ it is by far my favorite rod to use hands down

Just bought a Big Water of the back of this video! But I live in the UK, and there is no supplier of Ugly Sticks here! Had to order it from the US, took over a month to get here!

Nice rod but physics onto the process...a body in motion will stay in motion...and will accelerate towards the direction of the applied force (going in the same direction) unless an opposing force going into another direction is applied (to stop it or slow it)...and since the car has wheels, friction is minimized already...but it pulling the boy...now that is AWESOME!!!

I love the catfish ugly stik I have hauled in a 41 pound catfish on it and it held up well
Uglystick balance... beautiful lightweight rod, plenty of flex, and a but of power when needed. Am very satisfied with its performance after 2 years and over a ton of fish caught on it.

I used an ugly stik bigwater 12' surf rod for a while as a bait rod until I got the Tsunami trophy surf 12' surf rod.
Nice video on the ugly stick, one of my most favourite rods to use here in Australia and haven't broken one yet . Have a good collection of rods and still growing but sitting at 37 at the moment and 70% are ugly sticks

Love my GX2, but I hate the reel that came with it. I got rid of the reel because the inside was messed and a screw fell out of the bottom and bought an Abu Garcia Revo 2S30 spinning reel. I later bought a St. Croix Premier 7 Foot Medium-Action rod to go with it because the GX2 was a medium-heavy and I wanted something lighter. I still use the GX2 when throwing heavy spoons or spinners for pike.

I got a GX2 and it's fine other than the fact that the handle is loose. All you have to do is turn the knob on the other side of it to tighten the handle on.

I own and throw 2 different size big waters and the gx2 for lighter gear. I pulled in a nurse shark today and the big water made it easy. Not like they put up too big of a fight but still heavy. For the price , you can't beAt it.

Depends on the island, pretty much anywhere but Oahu has good fishing. If you do happen to come to Oahu, then try going online and looking for a charter for fly fishing for Oio (bone fish).

my favorite ugly stick is a big water BWB 1140 6'6 (1.98M) Action: MH (20-50 Lb. Line)
I like to go to this not so secret inner coastal inlet with a small bridge and use my spoon when the tide is going in or out. I just free line it a bit and let the spoon do its thing in the current or use cut bait.
caught a tilapia once believe it or not. oh, the reds, snook, jack and dinosaur sized sheepshead is usually what I like to keep.
I don't think I'll ever catch that tarpon though. maybe... some day, it will go for my catch.
