  • I've always enjoyed metal detecting ever since l bought my first white's classic 20+ years ago.
    Today I still enjoy metal detecting like the first day I started, I quite often head on to the foreshore, local beaches and a regular at our local detecting club.

    what I like is the dual purpose of the trips. You have fun finding cool stuff and make some cash from it but also you keep all the junk you find in a junk bag to dispose of later so you clean up our beaches - good work man!

    wow although I hae been to Scotland ,and loved it,i never got a chance to metal detect,in California you won't find much old stuff like you find,mostly junk and cell phones coins but not much antiques or interesting things from the past.my grandmother lived in neilston my uncles in Johnston. we visited ever three years or so when I was a boy,we used to go to aberdaur and Glasgow and Edinburgh I loved Scotland and I haven't been back since the eighties.i am sure its changed a lot.but I wont ever forget the old one.and hope to return in the future.thank you great video jimmy.

    Is there need to get an expensive metal detector? Most people seem to only find things within a few inches of the top with anything i've seen, no doubt the higher end are more accurate etc but will a 50/100 MD be okay? Mainly would be sand probably so would be easier than a thick mud field.

    Hi Sir,
    Quick question ...
    are you using a Deus detector only or do you own a few?
    Any chance to get some reviews?
    Or recommend a cheaper alternative for a beginner.
    PS love the vids
    many thanks
    K

    • @donald_morrison
      @donald_morrison  7 лет назад

      Kads R I use the XP Deus for the beach, I own a few machines and always found this to be one of the best for the beaches.
      I often see other detectorists on the beach and compare finds.
      With guys that use Garrett detectors they rend to dig a lot more holes, and find more iron, where as l did not find any nails unless they where copper.
      You seem to have a faster recovery speed with the XP Deus compared to a Garrett, but everyone us used to their own machine, best tip is to buy a better machine even if it is second hand.

    Hi donald im looking to start metal detecting could you recccomend a metal detector that you can use on the beach and on dry land ?ive heard that not all metal detectors are salt resistant.im looking to spend aporox £250 on one.thanks for your help.scott

    • @donald_morrison
      @donald_morrison  6 лет назад +1

      Scott Lakey
      Hi Scott, I quite often see people with Garrets on the beach and they seem to do pretty well have a check out what the price the AT Pro is I’m sure you can pick up a second hand one for that price or less.
      I tend to use the Xp Deus as it’s light weigh and you can detect for hours without a sore arm. With the Xp Deus you can knock out a lot of iron picking up better targets.
      In the summer months l used to hit £80 in a few hours on one of my local beaches. Good luck 😉
