      People do research on animals all the time at universities. Mice, owls, rats, fish…. Just because we have strong emotional attachments to dogs we think we should not research on them. But dogs are animals just like all other animals we eat and research on. Where do we draw the line between cruel and necessary?

    This video is factually incorrect.
    She is mixing parts of the Pavlov experiment from USSR with Seligman experiment from USA.

      An unethical one.

      it was the sixties. at that time there were no ethics-committees ruling that animal tests (or tests on babies or people) were unethical or wrong. We cannot blame a person for the global societal viewpoint and world in which they lived.

    There was no bell in Seligman's study, he actually dimmed the lights before shocking the dogs, had the same effect though

      I have ADD too. I'm beginning to see that o use the diagnosis to tell the story of my failures, however. And perhaps that's "learned helplessness" - not so helpful if i ever want to do the things i actually am good at and interested in, if they are even slightly challenging.
