Was getting nails done and that had a playlist of you going. By the time my nails were done, I was obsessed with you and this series! Came home and been binge watching your videos! I can’t wait to try these potatoes! Love you and love this series!

I made this after watching the video twice, and omgosh, I've roasted potatoes before but these.. uff, dreamy! Boiling them until just fork tender, not lining the cookie sheet and really using lots of oil made these potatoes incredible. The spice blend is fabulous too, the dried rosemary has more of a woody note rather than if we used fresh that's more green/soapy lol. I passed a bowl of these to my bf who was on a zoom meeting ( no video) and he looked at them like, its a bowl of potatoes? But his eyes lit up when he tasted one and ate the whole bowl haha. Everytime you share your family recipes they are a hit! Your mushroom puffs are my other favorite to make.
Next time I'm going to make a sunny side up egg and side salad of cucumber and sour cream with them :)

I always cook potatoes like this to my family! But I also add saffron powder with the paprika and rosemary.

The way I make mine is, I mix the potatoes in a bowl with all my seasoning first so that all the potatoes are evenly covered and then add some olive oil to coat and seal in everything and again toss until all potatoes are evenly covered in seasoning and oil. Then i roast in the oven on 375 until done. You can substitute chives, parsley or Italian seasoning instead of rosemary. I've been making these for years.

I do the same, and I also like to change up the herbs every so often. Potatoes cooked like this are extra special using home grown spuds. 😋

Highly recommend you oil and season in a bowl and toss them around, to get maximum coverage. Then transfer to a pan and roast.

They look like they taste so home cookin good. I understand her not and y'all not using fresh spices because the dry help it get crispy and it doesn't char like the fresh herbs and garlic would. I don't know how the potatoe loves I cook for will like them but I bet I would. I love sweet paprika and your like me with lots of black pepper. Excellent!!! Thanks for the idea and way to prepare the potatoes!!! Nice.

Fresh garlic would probably just burn and get bitter before the potatoes are even half crispy 😅

I add whole cloves to my roasted and it turns out delicious (I don’t parboil mostly because I forget but I do love them parboiled first). I think you just get a different flavor with fresh cloves that are scattered vs. powder which is coating each potato.

Between the boiling and the seasoning/roasting stage, as they cool, toss the potatoes in white vinegar to help increase crispness and add a tangy zip. I do this when making my roasted smashed potatoes and people go nuts over them.

While I generally don't like grandmas' recipes, because I don't yet have confidence in my cooking so I prefer measured things, this turned out pretty well. I'm glad I tried it, and I will make it again, hopefully with better results each time, though I am happy with my first try as well:))

Those look amazing. I'd serve them with sour cream (I know I'm a looney). Holidays aren't proper holidays without Grandma Rolls at my house. They are a super light, enriched dough that rises super fast (like the second proof should be as they bake in the oven!) They come together so quickly and always taste amazing. They are also the best turkey and cranberry finger sandwich base!

Emma: "I didn't include measurements for the seasonings because you just kind of go with what feels right."
Also Emma: "Smoked paprika is absolutely NOT ever used in this recipe, that would be a crime against humanity." 😂
Really though this is the best/only way to make great roasted potatoes.... though in my house, it's *always* smoked paprika(because it's delicious).
