My son is now 8 but when he was born this was the song I used to sooth him back to sleep at night. I was alone just him and I the first year of his life and this song honestly help me get by. It's beautiful and haunting yet inspirational. He's now a huge Sade fan and wants to play the saxophone when he gets older.

She is a mermaid that brings us songs from the depths of the sea, of love, loss, friendship, & passion. She only comes on land every 10 years.
when I was a little girl I wanted to be a mermaid when I grew up because I believed they were real. One day I'll have my mermaid fantasy. The name of this song is so perfect too, all I think about is swimming in the water like a mermaid or dancing with the man I love! This is one of my fav Sade songs by far, its simply beautiful and tranquil! Sigh! 🧜🏾♀🤗

Funny comes to land every ten years. That’s a good one, wish she did tour more often. The Ancient history of mermaids is actually quite dark and violent so I don’t believe that Sade is a mermaid, for real I know the modern day version of mermaids are different now tho. I think that’s why the song is beautiful yet has a sense of haunting. It’s my belief that Sade is a very kind talented beautiful human and her music sends us. It’s very unique, yet human she is.
Sade has seen some pain in her life and serious changes, trust me she’s human And handling, I have met her she’s very kind and gracious extremely humble

Used to listen to this in Jacksonville Fl @ the beach 3×a week.Sade had one of the hottest bands ever! Damn they can play some bomb music. I wonder what her ex-bandmates are doing now?
Sade is amazing and HER BAND IS THE BOMB! I love seeing them live in concert. It is like they are playing just for you, in your living room, with Sade walking around all glorious just singing, swaying and grooving just for YOU.

im convinced that only sade has made music this beautiful and deep. I've heard so much music but none touches my mind & sometimes soul the way that sade's music does. specifically this song. i can hardly describe the way i feel and how something somewhere alters in me each time i hear one of her songs.
We all love Sade's voice for we are leaving comments like I'm doing right now.

When I was in my early 20s, I was a dancer in a bikini bar and this was one of the songs I used to dance to. It was amazing how this beautiful song turned these men to romantic mush. I always tried to keep my dancing on the classy artful side - more loving and giving and they absolutely loved it. I’ve just discovered this track. I’m completed addicted to it. I’ve had it on repeat for the past 4 hours. I cannot stop listening to it. There’s a sweet sadness to it that brings back memories from past relationships that didn’t fulfill their promise. Listening to Sade I would say she is the female version of George Michael. There’s so much pain and feeling in her words and her music. Just a different level of music.
