I have a large bag with an assortment of different cords. Some are pretty old too. Like RCA and serial cables. Never know when you might need them though.
My rule of thumb is if I have crossed 3 decades without plugging it in, I can toss it. No sooner.

I have 4 different bins labeled for various stuff like this.
PC components: External drives, mice, joysticks, case fans etc
Electrical: extension cords & power strips mainly.
Audio/Video: Display port/HDMI, COAX cables, speaker wire, xtra headphones
USB related: USB 1-3 & extension cables, USB wall adapters
Same or similar type items are then put into labeled quart or gallon bags so everything is easy to find.

Telling my dad it’s “right there” knocking over every single childhood bandage box that I finally resituated to get to the stuff we use each day. Ahhhhh, knock it all over. It’s fine. Because I’m thinking your teenage daughter may not have a headache, but in fact it’s the monthly visitor next door to the neighbors. In that event, you could offer her some Midol. But Advil will work in a pinch if you can’t find any Midol in the bottom of your plastic dad purse. At least it’s for a zipper though, so the Kotex don’t fall out. Cuz surely you have some of those available to give your daughter… or no. Hate the make her ride her bike all the way to the neighborhood culdisac to make sure she can find some there from the yuppie ma’s. Ya know what I’m saying?
