one day I was practicing v5's and decided to just send a v7 and got it 3rd try, I didn't think I was ready but something I learned about climbing is to just try hard things cause sometimes you stick or land moves you didn't think you were capable of, and the only way to find out if you are capable of it, is it to try. If you so happen to do a level dont shift your focus, master every level. Flash every level and nearly every climb of what you are able to do before you move on, but try and least 1-2 hard climbs but only give it a few trys, thats my best tips.

Realistically if you worked that v7 for a few sessions you could have done it a month earlier, aka you were already climbing v7. Not to be a downer but you really can't make any substantial gains in a month and definitely not 2 v-grades, videos like this will make noobs get discouraged when they can make 2 v grade jumps monthly.

@@skallymanga7812 Most gyms are extremely soft grade wise especially for noob grades. They make them super soft so people wont get discouraged when they arent making the progress they think they should be.
Even the moonboard grades are are pretty soft for the climbs of each grades with the most ascents. If you think you can make jumps like this guy put some videos up in a month from now when you are climbing the moonboard V7's.
That was my other problem with this video. The guy tries moonboard problems then 4 weeks later does some random vert problem. Why didn't he go back to the moonboard? That would probably be a better measure.

Also losing 6% bodyfat means a caloric deficit of ~1200 per day

*Trained like a beginner climber for one month* is a more accurate and less click-baity title.

Thats a great idea to reduce your calories, especially via carbs reduction when you need the highest perfomance and the fastest recovery. Reeeallly great.

Do you plan on staying at thay weight and slowly gain muscle or do you think you would benefit from losing more weight ? That was great quality content btw !

I could probably afford to drop my body fat down another 3-4%, and for the long-term gains, I need to improve my climbing weaknesses and develop more muscle. I will most likely stay around 160lbs, which feels good for me and matches pro climbers that are of a similar height to myself.

Great achievement and a pretty good documentation of it as well, really enjoyed this one!
I have to ask though, the breathing and muscle activation techniques, are you planning on explaining these in the future? I am really intrigued by what they enabled you to achieve and I think a lot of people would be interested in hearing about these, if possible. :)

Diet-wise, try going Vegan (whole foods) for a month, loads of carbs, no reason to feel tired, and you’ll lose weight as your sat fats will plummet!

Hmmm weird diet. I'm 5'11 and a half @ 145 7% body fat. I think the secret is in Carbs and Starches. You need more starches bro. Broccoli and potatoes! Lots of iron too

The side view pictures hurt my back! Kills me to see climbers in their 20’s with 70 year old’s dowager humps. Shoulders up! Down! And back! Because old you would come back and tell young you that if you could. 🙂

Just something to say, so he “trained like a pro climber” whilst struggling with V5 or 6 puzzles/climbs. Which means he did what he shouldn’t have at this level you want to simply climb and do some regular exercise examples go on a walk, bike ride, a jog, do some yoga even don’t push your limits because then you harm yourself, you want to take it slow. But dieting or eating better food is perfect for training as it’s a normal routine and it helps your muscles and your overall health so do this for sure but make sure your diet is truly useful and not unhealthy. So overall don’t completely follow this video if you want to improve like him just take it slow and normal slowly improving endurance, strength, grip all of that good stuff..

Do you take protein , creatine beta alanine everyday? when did you take it? before the training? or without training?

I think the best thing to point out is that you can improve your technique, power, explosiveness by losing weight. I’m sorry but I’m a month, unless you’re Adam ondra, I don’t see this types of gains happening.

How cool to do the Boulder Problem replica as your first indoor v7! If I had that thing nearby I'd project the hell out of it (my best indoors is V6 currently)
