If u listen closely, the Dazzles have only three singers yet u can hear all the Soprano, middle, and Alto. The Rainbooms have way more singers but they all sound like happy chipmunks squealing across the crowd.
This is still one of my favourite MLP songs ever edit: after going and listening to the original I think that this difference is because the Mane6 are all either mezzo soprano or sopranos, except maybe for AJ and possibly Rarity. Sunset is the only one who is an actual alto I feel like. I can only really pick out any harmonies for the first few bars when she starts, but the everyone pretty much starts singing in unison and I can't here her voice at all. (this is the point where I start questioning why I just spent 20 minutes dissecting the music from a children's show when I have actual things I need to be doing)
I think the Dazzlings were much better than the Rainbooms too, but in the end it wasn’t a music competition anymore. It was the magic of friendship defeating the Dazzlings with the counter spell.
What’s really cool about this song is that the Dazzlings actually defeated the Mane 6 with it. They won. Adagio and Twilight went head to head in a sing-off and Adagio completely wiped the floor with her. The Rainbooms were only strong enough to beat them once Sunset Shimmer stepped in and joined them. But the original Mane 6 were defeated. Which is very interesting when you remember that there’s no Sunset Shimmer back in Equestria. If the Sirens had pulled this song off in the main show world they would have won completely because the Mane 6 alone couldn’t beat them. They’re truly some of the strongest villains in the MLP franchise and this song (and all their songs tbh) goes so hard that they honestly deserved to win. I was rooting for them.
The tone this song sets is one of a deep song meant to pull the listener into a trance like state, to help emphasize the weight of what they are singing and how dangerous they could have been given the opportunity. Only near the end does it crescendo into danger, as you the listener realize too little too late the true intentions of the sirens. A song truly meant to lull you into a state of adoration and complacency a slave to their will, or their food. Or I may know too much of sirens. Eh.
I don't always root for the villains but The dazzlings deserved to win the band battle Sure there probably would have been someone in Equestria to stop them but atleast they'd be back home and possible recurring villains...instead we just get gems busted game over.

They almost got defeated too -although I saw no big consequences other than the restoration of the siren's powers.- Shimmer ruined their victory though. I actually feel sorry for the sirens. I really wish the official soundtrack would've included 2:15 where Adagio (And later Sonata and Aria joining her) is singing those notes. They sound amazing and make it so epic.
Of course we all know the good guys and girls always win. They lost because of the plot. The Dazzlings being the main villains and their concept was the one thing that got me interested in the Rainbow Rocks movie. The rest of the stuff in the movie including the story, wasn't all that great and it seemed to fall apart and feel rushed. All I'm saying is that Hasbro could have done more with these characters and at least let us know what happened to them after the movie even if it has to be only limited to a comic.

I don't mean to brag but me and a bunch of the quiet/introverted kids at school are quite like the Dazzlings, one time we practiced for a graduation song and we were separated by 3 groups, the first ones were the popular kids, and next the other boys, and next the introverted kids, we slayed the practice, the popular kids were shocked XD.
i know she isn't included, but Sunset deserved to be a stand-alone villain. Yes, they gave her a redemption arc. Yes, they made her a hero. But the Mane Six & the entire Equestrian school didn't want nor need her. It was only until Twilight fell over that she said, "Sunset Shimmer, we need you!" They refused to call upon her until they needed it, she could've easily turned around and changed her mind. So, yeah.
Tbh, I would've much preferred that, over the course of the entire movie, she was a background character that got hated and only had like- three or four scenes that told us she wasn't a villain. But she could've easily- EASILY- taken the sirens' side. The fact she stuck with the mane six made me a bit disappointed. I would've loved to see the scene go like this: "Sunset Shimmer, we need you!" "Sorry, Princess. But even after I tried so hard to be a better person, change for the better, people still saw me as a villain. I guess I just have to feed peoples' imaginations." She shrugs and walks towards the stage, where Sunset gives her magic to the Dazzlings. Twilight and the gang are devastated, and betrayed. She left in their time of need. Was she ever really our friend? Sunset grabs the mic on stage, " You did this to me. All of you! If you had just forgiven me and let it all go, it wouldn't have to end like this. I'm only so patient, Twi." And sunset is reunited with her she-demon self. Wrecking the human world and will rule Equestria with the sirens, who happily took her in. "Finally, a worthy companion," Adagio states, "You'll fit in just nicely." *End scene* So if this happened I would've fangirled. The Dazzlings are my favorite, and I would've loved to see such a heart wrenching twist on the end, where the villain finally won. No extra movie where the heroes get a rematch, no secret win for the good guy. Just a heartbreaking ending leaving the protagonist in shambles. Now THAT would be cool.

Not only would that ending have been incredibly inconsistent with Sunset Shimmer’s character (it wouldn’t have been a satisfying conclusion to her arc at all), it just sounds like a crappy wattpad fan fiction by a 13 year old fan girl who just discovered what depression is and is too naive to realize it’s a bad thing. That’s the kind of thing I would’ve eaten up at 13 because it’s just gratuitous angst and dramatics for the sake of being the most shallow excuse of “dark and edgy” without any real nuance or depth… Mlp movies are made with morals in minds. Love and justice will always prevail, but even if you aren’t on the side of love and justice, it’s never too late to turn yourself around for the better. If you want to be a truly good person, you don’t do it for others’ approval. You do it to better yourself, and to not hurt the people around you. Sunset Shimmer was isolated, yes, but let’s not turn her into an incel just because people had a hard time forgiving her for literally brainwashing them/turning them into her mind slaves for world domination… to be a better person is to validate the pain you’ve caused others and to do better- not to be loved. That’s the point of Sunset’s arc.
Sirens are really scary since they are sorta (I think) based of mermaids. Meaning when the sirens sing it causes them (them being the sailors) to be mind controlled (I think) which caused them to destroy the ships against the sharp rocks and the sailors die

This song seems so much more complex then the mane six's, much more vocal skill. You can separate all the separate parts (alto, soprano, second soprano) and it sounds so cool when they split.

The bassline, drums and vocalization on the intro is not on 4/4 typical pop song tempo and are slightly out of sync with each other creating this catchy hypnotizing effect that is easily gonna get stuck in your head. Same goes for the harmonization dissonance from the first chorus of battle of the bands and the and contrast harmonization by sonata dusk on under our spell. We are truly under their spell.

The wing parts where probably not actually wings, but rather as what you said fins to resemble the fact that they're basically aquatic ponies (and also as a paralel to the main 6 transformations)
Shame they never released an official version of Welcome To The Show with just the Dazzlings in full and a separate track with just the Rainbooms in full. Feels like everyone would've liked that more than the rather lackluster band-battle we got.
I've always loved them. I've had an interest in Greek mythology since I was young, but sirens were creatures that I've always had the most fascination with, I think. These three are amazing, radiant antagonists that deserved more love than they got. STILL deserve more love. (Also, uh, can't lie...I'm a bit gay for Adagio. Can't explain why, but I am.)

I personally find The Dazzlings and Sunset Shimmer's voices the most natural. Since the dazzlings are using their amulets, they obviously will have an amzing singing voice. But Sunset's voice seems so natural for literally no reason and i LOVE IT.

@@Silksper a female singer with a voice pitched between soprano and contralto. So basically it's the second highest female voice type. They're aren't a full soprano, since their voice is a tad bit deeper, but not quite a contralto. Hope this makes sense!

The dazzlings really deserve more screen time. Before the series ended I really wished they would create an episode exclusively for the Dazzlings only, so that we could learn more about them, probably just a short film about how their life was like after their necklaces broke, or something like that. I know that they were shown again in Sunset’s Backstage Pass but they were not the main topic, somehow just a small scene of them :/

Of course we all know the good guys and girls always win. They lost because of the plot. The Dazzlings being the main villains and their concept was the one thing that got me interested in the Rainbow Rocks movie. The rest of the stuff in the movie including the story, wasn't all that great and it seemed to fall apart and feel rushed. All I'm saying is that Hasbro could have done more with these characters and at least let us know what happened to them after the movie even if it has to be only limited to a comic.

i know she isn't included, but Sunset deserved to be a stand-alone villain.
Yes, they gave her a redemption arc.
Yes, they made her a hero.
But the Mane Six & the entire Equestrian school didn't want nor need her.
It was only until Twilight fell over that she said, "Sunset Shimmer, we need you!"
They refused to call upon her until they needed it, she could've easily turned around and changed her mind.
So, yeah.
Tbh, I would've much preferred that, over the course of the entire movie, she was a background character that got hated and only had like- three or four scenes that told us she wasn't a villain. But she could've easily- EASILY- taken the sirens' side. The fact she stuck with the mane six made me a bit disappointed. I would've loved to see the scene go like this:
"Sunset Shimmer, we need you!"
"Sorry, Princess. But even after I tried so hard to be a better person, change for the better, people still saw me as a villain. I guess I just have to feed peoples' imaginations." She shrugs and walks towards the stage, where Sunset gives her magic to the Dazzlings.
Twilight and the gang are devastated, and betrayed. She left in their time of need. Was she ever really our friend?
Sunset grabs the mic on stage, " You did this to me. All of you! If you had just forgiven me and let it all go, it wouldn't have to end like this. I'm only so patient, Twi."
And sunset is reunited with her she-demon self. Wrecking the human world and will rule Equestria with the sirens, who happily took her in.
"Finally, a worthy companion," Adagio states, "You'll fit in just nicely."
*End scene*
So if this happened I would've fangirled. The Dazzlings are my favorite, and I would've loved to see such a heart wrenching twist on the end, where the villain finally won. No extra movie where the heroes get a rematch, no secret win for the good guy. Just a heartbreaking ending leaving the protagonist in shambles. Now THAT would be cool.

Not only would that ending have been incredibly inconsistent with Sunset Shimmer’s character (it wouldn’t have been a satisfying conclusion to her arc at all), it just sounds like a crappy wattpad fan fiction by a 13 year old fan girl who just discovered what depression is and is too naive to realize it’s a bad thing. That’s the kind of thing I would’ve eaten up at 13 because it’s just gratuitous angst and dramatics for the sake of being the most shallow excuse of “dark and edgy” without any real nuance or depth… Mlp movies are made with morals in minds. Love and justice will always prevail, but even if you aren’t on the side of love and justice, it’s never too late to turn yourself around for the better. If you want to be a truly good person, you don’t do it for others’ approval. You do it to better yourself, and to not hurt the people around you. Sunset Shimmer was isolated, yes, but let’s not turn her into an incel just because people had a hard time forgiving her for literally brainwashing them/turning them into her mind slaves for world domination… to be a better person is to validate the pain you’ve caused others and to do better- not to be loved. That’s the point of Sunset’s arc.

Sirens are really scary since they are sorta (I think) based of mermaids. Meaning when the sirens sing it causes them (them being the sailors) to be mind controlled (I think) which caused them to destroy the ships against the sharp rocks and the sailors die

This song seems so much more complex then the mane six's, much more vocal skill. You can separate all the separate parts (alto, soprano, second soprano) and it sounds so cool when they split.

Have yall noticed something? The bassline, drums and vocalization on the intro is not on 4/4 typical pop song tempo and are slightly out of sync with each other creating this catchy hypnotizing effect that is easily gonna get stuck in your head. Same goes for the harmonization dissonance from the first chorus of battle of the bands and the and contrast harmonization by sonata dusk on under our spell. We are truly under their spell.

Has anyone ever wondered why as humans they have wings? I know they never actually flew with the wings, and it's probably supposed to resemble their dorsal fins, but I have always been extremely curious as to what those wings are for...

I've always loved them. I've had an interest in Greek mythology since I was young, but sirens were creatures that I've always had the most fascination with, I think. These three are amazing, radiant antagonists that deserved more love than they got. STILL deserve more love.

@@Silksper a female singer with a voice pitched between soprano and contralto. So basically it's the second highest female voice type. They're aren't a full soprano, since their voice is a tad bit deeper, but not quite a contralto. Hope this makes sense!
I remember when I was little I thought the siren voices were odd, but now after lots of vocal teaching I’m amazed by the power in their voices and their abilities to belt on such high notes

The dazzlings really deserve more screen time. Before the series ended I really wished they would create an episode exclusively for the Dazzlings only, so that we could learn more about them, probably just a short film about how their life was like after their necklaces broke, or something like that.
I know that they were shown again in Sunset’s Backstage Pass but they were not the main topic, somehow just a small scene of them :/
