When filipinos sing, they're not acting...it comes from the heart.They express their emotion..it's heartfelt. And it's not taught or coached as most reactors would always say. Filipinos develop their skill and talent through listening, experimentation, practice, playing around with their voices/the song and the sheer love for music. They discover and develop things along the way through that and not through the help of a professional voice coach. Foreigners always point out it's taught or coached coz perhaps that is how you do it in your country(to go by the book), that's why it's hard for them to comprehend how pinoys do it. The easiest way for foreigners to find the logic behind it is that filipinos have undergone voice lessons etc. But you see most filipinos dont have that privilege to hire vocal coaches or take voice lessons. Most, will only have that opportunity in terms of technical aspect once they are already in the industry, coz now they can afford it and then having combined that, now you have these exceptional singers.
It's in the Filipino culture; it's thier past time just to sing; they are also lovers, they sing to their love ones girlfriends, boyfriends, wife , husbands and etc. When I was young 10 or 12 years old, we use to sell newspapers and from that we would buy songhits unluckily for me It was not for me, no matter how I tried. This was way back 1960's.

Efra and walezka FYI Filipinos are self taught coz we can't afford voice lesson and we're good at emulating singer's first we practice singing at home try to mimic or make it close to original singer after that we make it better if we reach the right pitch

She's a wonderful singer but she'll probably be an engineer or a lawyer or something serious. Our parents make us sing but they don't want us singing for our dinners for real. You'd be very hard-pressed to find parents here who will encourage their kids to pursue the arts as a career.
