RBB A month ago, the All-Maudra May have dismissed Hup without a second thought if he even made it past the guards in the first place. But after talking to the Mother Goddess of Thra & finding out the “lords & protectors” her people have been faithfully serving for centuries are drinking their life force like it’s Bud Light, a Podling Paladin is far from the craziest idea in the world.

@Kingdoms How is he generic??? Dude, he obviously has more depth to him than just that. The emotional wall he puts up whenever someone mistreats him definitely shows he has past experiences we don't fully know about, his crush on Deethra is really sweet and amusing and he also clearly has emotional/empathic attachments for the audience through these kinds of things that are actually making us interested in him enough to do fanart, write fanfiction, theorize about him and hope to Aughra he doesn't die.

I was so worried that Hup was just going to be a dumb comic relief character that added nothing but cring worthy jokes and painfully unfunny slapstick, but I was wrong. I never thought a Podling would possess such heart and genuine emotion on this level. Hup is one of the best ways to bring in a comical character and still give him dignity. This is a true masterpiece. He represents his people well. Podling Justista!

I agree, I love Hup, this show made me misty in some parts, and I remember one of those being tears of joy at seeing what a true Paladin Hup was. I just wanna hug that little dude, them ride into battle with him lol

The more I think about Hup, the more I love him. He aspires to be a paladin, and he has the courage and bravery to do it. He's not all bark and no bite, he'll charge headfirst into danger with a spoon without a second thought because that's what paladins are supposed to do.
I hope that Hup becomes a legend among the Podlings by the end of the series! 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩

I love the respect that the former All-Maudra gave to Hup, I wish we got to see his rise to Paladin by the end of the series. I wish we also got to see interaction from Rian’s father, Captain Ordon and Hup. A warhero and an aspiring paladin. I think Ordon would have liked Hup’s bravery.

@@laullyann2896 I seriously think he loves her... Like, the way he reacted around her when they first met was screaming he found "love at first sight" to me. I'm going to be weeping for him honestly when Rian moves in on Deethra.
@@CosplayCore I thought that too. I do like the idea of Rian and Deet myself, although I think Deet has such a special bond with Hup.
At the end of the last episode, as well as being destroyed over Deet and her suffering from the Darkening, I just thought that Hup's heart will break when he finds out what has happened to her.
I know how the original film starts and that this show will fill in the blanks leading up to it, but I hope to God that Hup and Rian can save her. 😢
@@laullyann2896 season 2 speculation: with the help of lore, hup will get down from the circle of the suns, find deet, and find a way to remove the darkening from her, maybe transfer it to himself(because that's how much he loves her) so that deet and rian can be together(since hup realized during the sitting around the fire scene that they had feelings for each other and he was in the friend zone). hup truly is the mvp.
@@CosplayCore There was a time I'd have thought that myself, but a few years ago I developed a very similar relationship with a friend of mine. I love her to pieces and am fiercely protective over her, but despite us having compatible orientations, we've never done anything more "romantic" than hugging each other as a greeting.

Apparently Gelflings are between 2-3 ft. Podlings are said to be a head shorter than them on the Wiki. Meaning Hup is probably 1-1.5ft tall... and he *blocks an attack from the Hunter* O_O no one has done that singlehandedly!
