Can you remember when you were at school and hated Sundays and that soon transpired into work on Mondays 😂😂 I have to say you make Sunday evenings bloody great again, please keep going as you keep us going 🥾🗻😊😊😊
I never tire of those moss covered, stacked stone walls. 💚 And despite the 'clag', it was, yet again, a lovely adventure. Thank You for sharing, Glenn. The herdy shot was precious. 😊
I always have a good chuckle at your vids, your humour lifts my spirits. It's always interesting, the landscape, the caves that are apart of history. Loved every minute. 😁😁
Another great video. Your videos are really inspirational. Went out last Sunday for the first time in probably 6 months to the Lake District. Since having issues with my DSLR I had really lost the motivation to go out around the Lake District and the Peak District as it normally takes about 1 hour to take my first shot with my camera due to the issue I'm having with it. After watching your last video followed by various videos from your earlier series back to back I was inspired enough to go to Haweswater and up Harter Fell. Had a great day, weather was great for photography and my camera behaved itself 😀. I would like to say a big thank you for inspiring me to get back out with my camera. Keep up the great work that you do and looking forward to your next video.
Loving this series. Really good to watch. Lakeland in all weathers looking equally as beautiful each time I watch. Nice to see the Herdy's out and about too. Love the little Finn doggy on the dash. Put a smile on my face. Cheers for another great episode
Best way to end a Sunday :D. Every time I watch those vlogs, I am blown away by how much stone walls you guys have over there and how many man hours went into making those
Gutted I had to work last night so came home this morning at 6am and the first thing my wife said to me was we watching BlackCrag before I go to work, lol. So there we was at 6am watching our favourite show. That drone footage was amazing. Just a shame we have to wait a whole week for the next one, best day of the week and as been said Sundays are not boring anymore.
Another superb video. Such a tantalising glimpse of what I know are fantastic views around Harter Fell. I've not explored that valley yet and I've clearly been missing out! Nice chunk of history to explore too. I'm really enjoying the different circuits you're doing of what could easily be a 'standard round' like the Kentmere Horseshoe. Really nice to be given ideas of some new circuits to try and also the variety you include in your videos.
Lovely video - so atmospheric with all the clouds rolling in plus the creepy caves - was like something from a horror film at times. 'Can they fit us all in' - brilliant. Thanks so much for taking the time to bring us these beautiful and entertaining vlogs.
The one time I tried the Kentmere Horseshoe, having previously reached all the tops in different routes, I went this way round but in high summer conditions. I ended up coming off at Nan Bield, being well aware I'd never make the western ridge, and having run out of water despite carrying the usual 2 litre bottle. I remember the trudge down Kentmere - does this valley *ever* end? - far less happily than you, until I finally passed a house where the lady reflled my bottle and I drank half of it in one go. Harter on that walk became one of only a dozen or so fells I reached more than twice, three times in fact, each time from a different direction, as it should be.
Another great video. After last weeks trip I thought there might be more snow but the milder weather has clearly reached the lakes. I love watching these videos on a Sunday evening.
"Flip an egg", Glenn (that's the Closed Caption interpretation of your 'flipping heck!')!! Yet another absolutely fabulous vlog of these amazing fells. Have really enjoyed all of your Wainwright series. So inspiring, and we can't wait to get back out and do some more, although we'll wait for the better weather. So thank you, thank you, thank you for your time, efforts, skill and entertainment. "Death-horse 1 and death-horse 2" made me giggle out loud. Looking forward to the next episode. All the best Yvette and Mark
Greatly enjoy your vlogs and eccentricities (nervous of ponies for example) and happy that you have dropped the wide angle lens you used in older videos. The great bit is that its a walking video that is about the walk not the stupid fluffy stuff that main channels seem to like, plus you highlight the great photo ops and your photography is spot on. Looking forward to your future Wainwrights.
@@BlackCrag The main channels being the BBC, ITV etc., many potentially good 'walking' programs ruined by having fluffy content rather than the actual walk. Mainly thinking Julia Bradbury
Thanks for another cracking trip out. Weather is weather. landscapes produce different aesthetics dependent upon it. every Sunday you take our minds off the week ahead and it's drudgery. From Shipman Knotts on a clear day with binoculars you can see the Liverpool cathedrals, Anglesey and the Snowdon range. There was a video on here about the mine I remember. A seam of high quality green slate I think running to Wrengill. I think those walls in Kentmere are some of the oldest unmolested still standing in the UK, and the Yews in the churchyard predate our monarchy. There is a grounding available thereabouts which is priceless. .. and the beer!
I enjoyed this route too but it's tough old mutha to start with :) not been to lakes for a bit. Cost of fuel itsvstartingbto takes its toll. Used to be a 3-4 trips a month.....down to 1 a month now 😞 your vlogs give me my fix :) I'll up end of this month. I enquired with a local company to climb Napes Needle soon to so lookomg forward to that :)
If you get cold hands try some snowboarding gloves as they are warm and waterproof and tough enough to take the abuse grabbing rocks, ice and snow. Maybe ice climbing gloves might be good too. I would avoid skiing or hiking gloves as they aren’t durable enough for scrambling in. I bought a pair of gore tex Dakine gloves from Wet and dry boardsports years ago and they are still waterproof and in good condition after loads of abuse.
Yet another great video. Keep up the good work! I have been guilty of ploughing on to just get to the top but your knowledge on your walks has opened my eyes to spend a bit more time checking other things out.
Cracking route! Love it down by the reservoir and old workings, I went there once after bailing off Ill Bell when we abandoned my first attempt at the horseshoe, probably sometime around 1985! It's a gorgeous valley.
Another great production. I always look out for your weekly video. Thanks. Also just had another one of your pictures framed for my girlfriends birthday as she just loves Herdies.
Loving your video's in this series and look forward to them each week. I thoroughly love walking up in the Fells and don't mind what the weather has to do (other than snow and ice lol) but do worry that the walks in the clag won't inspire as many people to get up there as the ones in spring/summer will. Might have to revisit some of these? Keep up the great work and give Finn a biscuit from me
Another great vlog Craig, pity about the views, hope to do this walk next month, when up in the lakes for a weeks holiday, by the way, what was the pub you were in at the end of the video, cheers 👍
Another great video. I was walking over on Cross fell at the same time as you were out on this one and it was equally as clag filled. Typically the afternoon was fine.
Love it, another great walk. Shame about the clag, but it's something I look forward to watching each week. That Shipman Knotts is a real nothing of a peak. Done that horseshoe 3 times now and never know if I've done that one. I couldn't decide if you would go the Hawkshead Brewery or the Eagle and Child.
Another great video! Thanks. What a shame about the clag being down.. We did Dollywaggon today and the views across to Morecambe Bay were amazing! The wind was so cold though, and the gloves weren't off for very long when we took photos!
Last year I walked the Kentmere horseshoe after watching your video. Next time I think I’ll take the path down to the reservoir as it looks so interesting. I’m surprised your route up wasn’t more boggy as it was pretty boggy last September when we walked down to Kentmere village. Thanks as always and I’ve bought you a pint Glenn (feels more appropriate than buying you a coffee 😀). Take care of yourself.
