A Malagan told me the cathedral is missing one of its two towers because they donated the money to the American Revolution against the British. Upon learning this many years later, US President Teddy Roosevelt offered to pay to finish the tower. The Malagans declined, enjoying the reminder and their place in American history!
Hi! Thank you for the comment. This version we never heard before. When did you go to Málaga? We think it is a lovely city! Btw - we would be happy if you subscribed to our channel
Interesting note about the missing tower on the Malaga Cathedral: the town donated the money to the American Revolution in the 1700s. US President Teddy Roosevelt heard about this in approx 1900 and offered to pay to have the second tower finished. Malaga declined stating they liked it the way it now was with one tower. Great city - so much to do, so easy to get to it all.

35 Years ago, I spent a couple of 3-month winters in Malaga. Used to be be dirt cheap there before the EU arrived and inflated everything. Great spot for taking great side trips to the rest of Andalucia.
Is Malaga crowded during Easter? ( I was thinking of staying here instead of Seville.) The city looks very pretty and interesting... thanks for the nice video!😚❤🇺🇸
The advantage of Málaga is that the city is located by the sea. Seville not. #Malaga could be crowded during Semana Santa. But the city is never as touristically overloaded as for example Barcelona.

Can we travel to cordoba and Grenada from malaga? Any cheap bus or train services available??
Yes, you can! Granada is 1,5 hours by car. Cordoba is 2 Hours from Málaga. There are ALSA buses. But it is easier by car.
thanks for your reply , i am travelling from UK next month , is it left hand drive in Spain or right hand ?
Right hand.
Ronda is nearby, by bus, but quicker by car. Can be daytrip, get early start.
