This year is the La Nina season (El Nino is dry) with heavy rain. Rainy season in Thailand starts in late May to October in most of Thailand except the South which starts in November to January.

Been a shit year for rain, had worse flooding in memory here in Chiang Mai earlier on this year, flooded all the way down to BKK...

As a cyclist living in Thailand for the last 9 years, it has been biblical with the rain this year! I live in the north and we have to contend with a fairly constant wind also but, it still beats cycling on a wet windy day back in the south-west of the UK!
