I'm a new Jeep owner, I've had my Gladiator Rubicon for just over ten days so I'm probably not the best judge. So far, even though I'm constantly finding new things on the truck , I'm totally in love with it, I am also finding many items that did not come with it. At times it's a little frustrating and yes it is a bit expensive for a Retired Air Force Master Sergeant but at 77 years old I figure it's now or never !! And my two grown kids love it. Unfortunately I had to tell them that if anything happens to me they will have to fight over the Gladiator (my daughter said "gee thanks dad " but since they are 50 and 58 years old, I'll let them figure it out. So you have a good night and by for now !

I've had 9 jeeps over the years and my 22 Gladiator makes the 9th. I absolutely love it. Dynatrac axles w/5:13 and ARBs, Tom Woods driveshafts, Core 4x4 adjustable control arms, AEV 2.5 lift, Reid Racing Knuckles, 37" tires on AEV Borah beadlocks. It's noisy with a hardtop and underpowered but I absolutely love it. Only way I'd trade it would possibly be for a 392 Gladiator, if they ever make a factory option 392. I usually trade out every 2 years for work. I think I will keep the Mojave. And just buy a F-250 for work next year. Love having a convertible truck. Bought the sun rider top right away and flip it open as much as possible. Not feasible taking top and doors off here in Florida in the summer too much rain. But winter should be great.

#1 is not really accurate for what you get.

You’re forgetting something, most manufacturers aren’t making as many base models anymore. I considered getting a smaller truck such as Colorado, Canyon, Maverick, Frontier and all of them were in the $36k range plus taxes, fees and interest if financing. At that point it’s best to go after a Gladiator or a Tacoma as those vehicles hold their value over time.

I’ve own mine since 2021, 80th Anniversary Edition, white. Other than the Steering issues, I love it. Jeep has been slow or just doesn’t want to explore or explain why to it’s customers why they don’t what to fix or hand over a solution to this problem. As many owners discover the it’s cheap parts for under engineered reenforced suspension components that has to be added to correct these issues! After spending close to 4859.00 dollars in parts and 3000.00 in labor for installation for Fox 2.5 lift from Jeep, Senergy steering brace & track bar, etc, and wandering issues. You’d ask why I still enjoy my Jeep? I still enjoy the ride, troubles and all!

I purchased the 2020 jeep Gladiator Rubicon new back in 2019 and it’s been a wild ride for sure with having the aluminum steering box replaced under warranty to a steel steering box that fixed my death wobble steering problem to the dam start stop battery failure draining my main battery causing me to buy two new main batteries only to discover that after I bypass the start stop eliminating the small battery it finally fixed my battery drain to the purchase of a Tazer mini to shut off all of the annoying features like start stop . I really don't love the way the soft top looks when it's up, but I'm so glad I bought it vs the hard top. I can put it up by myself within 30 seconds. No panels to wrestle with or find safe storage for. I'm constantly driving with it up, if it starts raining - just find a safe place to pull over and another 30 seconds to get it down and secured. You hit the nail on the head about the introvert part - my wife cracks up every time someone asks me about it because she knows I'm dying inside the whole time.

I've purchase the 2023 Gladiator Mojave yesterday on May 19, 2023 for $51,000 out the door (10,000 down) ( 5,000 bonus savings) 5.75% interest for $775.00 per-month); with this bad economy all interest rates are higher compared to three years ago at 2.75%, It's now cheaper to purchase new vehicles, the rates are lower along with incentives and rebates . So far the good about the 2023 Mojave Gladiator is the smell of the new interior, looks, performance, draws a lot of attention. The bad is the fuel economy ; I left the dealership with a full tank tank of gas, 20 min later it was a half of a tank, also the steering isn't stable, it's like playing Gran Turismo trying to stay on the road. Overall, its was a great purchase along with the yellow ducks and peace signs from other drivers all day.

Hi Rob, I have a 2020 Jeep Gladiator Mojave in Granite gray. I love its utility as well as the way it looks. After getting the steel steering box replaced at the dealership, I am happy to report it tamed the wandering steering issue on the highway. I agree with your list and that I love my truck. I too had a bout with the stop/start motor and battery debacle. They kept my Jeep for over a week trying to figure it out, but I am happy to report no-repeat occurrences in almost a year! I was supposed to pick up my Jeep so I wandered out into the shop to see the lights flashing on and off and the windshield wipers moving. My Jeep was having a little temper tantrum (seizure). But so far no other difficulties. I have continued to add mods to my truck as I have time. One of the mods was to create a homemade board to hold stuff at the back of the bed. I too painted it in flat black but also added some hooks and a cargo net to round out the mod.
I enjoy your channel and always learn something. Keep up the good work!
    Gary

I have to say my JT is about 5000 million times quieter then my TJ on 37's with no carpet or floor mats.
traded in my 2017 F-150 eco boost super cab with 8 foot bed (love the smaller size now)
the ford had a knock a couple months back on start up, dealership changed out a part and then the transmission would try to stay in 10th gear at 30 mph.
The jeep is amazing!! I love it.
It isnt not a truck and it is not a wrangler.. As long as you have that mind set you will be fine. but if you bought a JT as a "truck/wrangler" then you wont like it.. it is not that great at either but it is good enough at both.

Haven’t done much yet, but so far I’ve put on an undercover bed cover, Mopar OEM steel front bumper, Warn winch, 35s, zautomotive mini tazer, LED headlights, Jeep windshield reflector, door entry guards, and an LED Nintendo Switch that never leaves the truck.
Edit: What kind of Tacoma do you have? The TRD Pro? I was considering getting one. Was between that, the Rubicon, Frontier Pro 4x, and Colorado ZR2. Toyota and Nissan certainly have the edge on reliability and longevity, but on paper, they don’t come close off road.

As a Loyal Listener I have to differ. You can say the same thing about Motorcycles , Some cost a lot of Money, Sun beats down on you, Noisy. But likes Jeeps you already know this before you buy right? Commonly people say don't get the first year model until they get the "GREMLINS" figured out. Granted I only have 7000 miles on it but I have the Sunrider top and a Sunsreen. And I figure with that top down and doors off you really don't need the rest of the top off. Kinda like if ONE pops out on a girl's bikini , Good enough I always say.

    1. expensive? not really. $55k is not expensive these days for a truck 2. not reliable? HA. Jeep has good reliability. 3. I remove my hard top (front sections) often. They sit in my backseat or bed. 4. Noisy? no, not really. at least not the hard top. Easy to talk to each other. 5. Not an introvert, so no big deal. Conclusion? Poor Gas Milage, Underpowered especially if you add bigger wheels and tires, a neighbor asked me how much I paid for it, my answer was too much, I've been approached a couple of times while I'm fueling up, and once or twice while driving or parked. I'll probably end up with the Bestop to replace the freedom panels. The road noise doesn't really bother me too much in this vehicle.
