People have created "Walls" and become accustomed to living in isolation. Death Stranding is a completely new type of action game, where the goal of the player is to reconnect isolated cities and a fragmented society. It is created so that all elements, including the story and gameplay, are bound together by the theme of the "Strand" or connection. As Sam Porter Bridges, you will attempt to bridge the divides in society, and in doing create new bonds or "Strands" with other players around the globe. Through your experience playing the game, I hope you'll come to understand the true importance of forging connections with others.

Mad respect to you and your team! Fastest cutscene movie I've seen get published. Been dying to see this game as a movie, but I just couldn't get into the gameplay itself. It's a combo of too many things I dont look for in games. However I couldn't pass up on this story. Thank you!

The newer and better alternative to TV. Honestly, game stories are a lot deeper and more thought-through than movies or even TV shows. The depth seems to have no limit.
Historically, helping out women who tell them to "Make Us Whole" in hallucinations doesn't work out too well for video game characters.

@@eksine Oh, it's just a phrase that's repeated throughout the Dead Space series. If you don't know about it, I recommend watching a playthrough of at least DS 1 and 2 (3 was kinda meh, as that was when Bioware began focusing more on DLC's and "pay to win" tactics and less on storytelling)
After the apocalypse, the most pressing matter is rebooting the Reuter and making sure Netflix still works.

I'm literally sitting here watching 9 hours of cutscenes like a HBO miniseries and it grabs my attention more than a HBO miniseries. I cant wait half a year for a PC version. This is to good of a story.

If you were paying attention to the lore his bodily fluids keep the BTs at bay. Ipso facto, doody fingers are yet another weapon in his vast arsenal.
Marcara081 only kojima could make a game where throwing shit and piss at ghosts is one of the least weird things about it.
They do have a sink in the room for him to use.

i like the tiny eye movements, but sometimes i felt the facial animations still lacking in terms of emotion. Or maybe that's just cause everyone is so dead inside lol

It's about what from our past (the connection) we've lost such that birthrates have declined to the point of complete demographic destruction i.e. societal suicide: 0 population. In order to remedy this we have to re-integrate what we've forgotten (the past) and reconstruct America (create a merger of new and old value systems) such that we can become a single cohesive society again (make us whole).
At least, that's what makes the most sense of every metaphor used so far. Then there's the idea of Sam (Uncle Sam) not wanting to be touched and so much of his interactions actually happening via holograms (through isolation). Which mirrors online-living via internet. Kojima seems to be making the point that while the technological connection system is greater than ever before it has come at the cost of the biological connection system, which ultimately defeats the purpose of the technology.
This is what I've gathered from my first viewing, if that helps.

Atenza let just leave them to do so. This game is not just a game, I like to think of it more like a message. It’s natural that Death Stranding won’t provide the usual game experience so it’s not for everyone.
I love that we get to see the whole picture unfolding in this grandiose way, giving us the time to let it sink in.

Very Japanese, when Sam Porter was disgraced, his hair was messy and down. When he has honor in him, like reconnecting America for his Beloved Sister Amelie, he's groomed with a Top Knot, like a real Samurai. The Gameplay is Boring as Hell, but I'm drawn in with this detail!

The script was way janky they couldn't keep the names straight! There's very little positive to say about even his movie Cutscenes..!

There’s so much filler in this game. I might wait until there a 2 hour upload.
It has a decent story concept from what I can gather, but the interesting narrative points are so far apart and between random delivery tasks it becomes repetitive and dull.

But, PLEASE, don't rush your own experience and please take your time experiencing the game at your own pace!! You can only do so once, after all. Cherish it! Don't rush! That said, I am eagerly, eagerly, waiting the next one!
It's actually quite fun, watching the major population being exposed to unfiltered designer games. So much confusion in the comments and reviews.
DS is clearly not for everyone. Not saying this in a condescending manner, either. It's very much like Pathologic, you do have to immerse yourself quite hard into the atmosphere and the feel of the game to get enjoyment out of it. The burden of getting the fun out of the game is on you, mostly, and I think that is what throws people off so much.
Looking forward to what the game will look like in a year or two, with a lot of player structures laying around, and how that reflects on public perception.
Remember when MGS came out first and most people didn't like it ( talking about the events from the PS2 and Ps3 ) . I think people are more used to faster paced games , i don't blame them i like them too. I am hooked on this game , to early to tell but i hope people let it pan out and wait on abit to see what becomes of it.

I love this channel. I stopped watching normal movies. Just Gamers little playground with extremely well put together game movies. Binge watching this channel for a long weekend has become a habit. Also, the game movies are extremely well sorted in alphabetical order , recent games etc. As a gamer once, i understand the mountain of pain that the creators of these movies have to put up to piece this together. A theory I have is that Infants are closer to the eternal vision as they were among eternity more recently. It's cool that this game draws into that theory by having the unborn children being the ones who can see the BTs which are seemingly figures of eternity as opposed to mortality.
This must be one hell of a hard game. No weapons, almost no vehicles, meagre defense options . Just wits and stealth. And..the story is so strong just like Ghost in the shell. It's wonderful

I had to delete my previous comment just to say something. I just realized the amount subtle fourth wall breaks the game makes. No I don't mean all the analogies and symbolism, or even direct verbal jabs. I mean the amount of times characters look directly at the camera, how the player is treated as an observer....honestly it's obvious, but this game is uncomfortably meta....it's been done before sure and even Kojima has a knack for it, but he uh...sure turned the dial up for this game.
So we fight a ghost with Norman Redus Bath water.

I think that Sam was also a BB because he can sense the BTs exactly like BBs and that what make him so strong when he conect with his BB
I read on the wiki, with no other context to it that he was actually the first BB. Again, no context so not sure where in the game it comes up hahaha. The memories he sees when he connects are actually his own as his time as a BB
