Wow Mark, I just found your channel, I really enjoy your creativity, it is wonderful! I am now going to start watching your other videos! I have been fusing for about 10 years on and off, but I lost my studio place and moved to an apartment and can only use a small jewelry kiln. It works fine though. Thank you so much, very fun channel! 👍

    Спаибо за ваш опыт.
Вопрос: почему смазка только вокруг отпечатка, почему центр стекла не прилипает?
    Класть металлическим слоем вниз?

thanks. if you learned something new from this video, then the ones on patreon.com/MarkLauckner will blow you away. There are some public ones on there, but the rest of them cost $3 a month to access, you can cancel whenever you like. I put new ones up on there at least twice a month. Spread the word, tell your glassmaking friends! thanks, Mark

great, glad you found some things in there of interest. Check out my videos on glass making on my Patreon page, there are numerous project videos on kiln castings, mold making, lots on working with dichro. www.patreon.com/MarkLauckner many of the videos are public access, the rest require a $3/month level of support to access. You can of course quit at any time, but I do upload new ones a couple times a month at least. At this point I have 32 videos made, 18 uploaded, a total of 50 planned. I have been doing glass since the late 70's and have tons of experience to share before I sign out.

Beautiful work I was just wondering one question do you need to fire the refractory cement mould before using or could I just leave it for another couple of weeks to drive properly🤠😎🤩👍

Thank you for this technique, I found it really interesting. Is fireproof cement the same as refractory cement? Selleys make one that is used to seal fireplaces, it says it resists intense heat. I know it would be more expensive but it would take me years to use 50lb.

refractory cement is for forming your own bricks and furnace parts, not cementing them together. It is generally called "castable refractory" but what I used in these videos was castable fused silica refractory.
