Join us on a delicious adventure as we explore the vibrant food scene of Portland, Maine. Just a quick 2-hour trip up the I-95 from Boston, Portland offers a plethora of mouthwatering eats that we couldn't wait to sink our teeth into.
Following in the footsteps of Phil Rosenthal, we embarked on a culinary journey, sampling everything from heavenly donuts to delectable sausages and, of course, the iconic lobster rolls.
Starting with a scenic coastline drive, we dove into our first stop: Holy Donuts. Known for their unique potato-based donuts, Holy Donut's flavor selection blew us away, especially the Maple Bacon, though we concluded it wasn't a two-hour drive-worthy treat.
Next up, we visited The Thirsty Pig, a laid-back spot renowned for its house-made sausages and local craft beers. We indulged in Thai chili and Maine blueberry sausages, ultimately declaring the former the winner for its burst of flavor.
Then came the ultimate challenge: comparing lobster rolls. We sampled offerings from High Roller Lobster Company and Bite into Maine. While both had enticing menus, Bite into Maine's Connecticut-style roll stole the show with its simplicity and sublime taste.
Despite our brief visit, we couldn't resist exploring Cape Elizabeth and its picturesque surroundings, leaving us eager to return and delve deeper into Portland's culinary delights.

A 6 oz lobster roll is 40-$60 in Boston, so $37 is pretty good. You should have tried a picnic style, it’s phenomenal! 😊 next time go to the Diamond St location where I did my review and you could get the flight of 3 mini rolls to discover other styles🦞
