I agree about Angelina’s diction, I have trouble sometimes understanding the lyrics of the song, but her voice is so perfect it just doesn’t seem to matter, she’s amazing, love her.

When you realize Billie Holiday and Amy Winehouse are reincarnated in Angelina, it explains why she is so unique with regard to jazz delivery. She's been doing jazz since she was 1-1/2 and I have to believe her grandmother Mery Zamani, another child prodigy like Angelina, was instrumental in cultivating that genre of song into Angelina not long after leaving the womb, knowing some how that her granddaughter was able to absorb and vocally mimic the songs so early in life.

But honestly - you noticed that you couldn't understand each word in the runs if you don't know the lyrics and said, AJ will learn it... are you able to understand each word if you don't know the lyrics e.g. in an aria? ;-))) I think in some music pieces the notes, the tone, the musical expression is more important than to understand each single word. Even if English is Angelinas third language, AFAIK she started to learn it as a toddler - so before her "phonetic brain" was fully developed (do you know the video where she walked 3yo with her morther through an shopping mall in USA? ;-) ) But I have to admit that there are some pronunciations in some songs of Angeline which sounds strange for me - but I don't know if there are any pronunciations in dialect somewhere so that it's perhaps right (e.g. the word "knock" in the bridge of "Welcome To My World" where she pronounced the "k" at very clearly...). She mentions this at 8, when appearing on the U.S. show called The View, she made the statement to host Rosie O'Donnell. The biggest jazz influencers to her were Billie Holiday and probably more important, that of the most unique jazz singer of all time, this being Amy Winehouse. She applies 'Amy like' inflections when she sings ballads like this and it allows her to exude a passion that non-jazz singers like Adele, Lana Del Rey, and Rhianna just can't do. She is beyond remarkable.
I too had trouble at first understanding all of her words, but what I did was pull up the lyrics, and followed along. Once I did that her voice and pronunciation became clearer to me. Now I just revel in her voice, and magic.
I love your reactions and this "little" old soul singer.. 😊 In general I find her articulation to be very good, from an early age. Actually I suddenly understood the lyrics and she made me listen. Now she uses a lot more of the breathy tones and that makes it harder. You must have very good headphones, and it helps to know the lyrics. Typicel examples are All I ask and When you belive. Now I can hear every word there too.. And it is just amazingly beautiful.. 🤗 In these outdoors events it has a lot to do with the recording. But we have them documented Thanks to Boris Palenovski.. 🙏
Hi Jen, this is from the summer tour 2019 at Proysen huset festivalen, it is a historical site about 90 miles north of Oslo, and its annual. Angelina seem to come every year in her summer vacations to sing there, aside visiting her relatives in Norway. Hopefully she will sing there again ASAP. My wife crushed my hopes of getting tickets for a concert there. Only audience of about 200 to 300 people possible. This concert will be sould out 10 seconds after announcement. :-D Oh, I forgot, she was wearing in her suit for AGT.
People that think Billie Eilish is just the greatest, should hear Angelina singing here. She is a teen singing Goddess the way she puts so much feeling into a song

I just don't think it gets any better than this. I've heard Adele's version many times, and of course it's Wonderful. But for me, this is better.
